KawiZX900 0 #29 March 23, 2003 you can still be executed during times of war. Zenister 0 #31 March 23, 2003 Quote>I like Rush.. I do too. One of my favorites: another of mine to, has always been, but sometimes means more like this older one.. Ten score years ago, defeat the kingly foe A wondrous dream came into being Tame the trackless waste, no virgin land left chaste All shining eyes, but never seeing Beneath the noble bird Between the proudest words Behind the beauty, cracks appear Once with heads held high They sang out to the sky Why do their shadows bow in fear? Watch the cities rise Another ship arrives Earth's melting pot and ever growing Fantastic dreams come true Inventing something new The greatest minds, and never knowing The guns replace the plow, facades are tarnished now The principles have been betrayed The dreams's gone stale, but still, let hope prevail History's debt won't be repaid
kallend 2,121 #32 March 23, 2003 Quote One of the soldiers in the grenade attack died FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! War is hell. Apparently you didn't know this before. How about some grief for the Brits killed by the "Patriot" missile? Thus far, in Gulf Wars I and II, more Brits were killed by US forces than by Iraqis. Ditto for Canadians in Afghanistan. No wonder the French and Germans don't want to be US allies.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
rhino 0 #33 March 23, 2003 Again.. Don't you have a rally to be at? If you do the math you will see that the soldier died from the grenade WELL before the unfortunate incident of the British plane being shot down by a patriot missile. Stop trying to start shit and do something usefull..

kiltboy 0 #36 March 23, 2003 Probably not relevant as I think I already now the answer but................. Does anyone know if anti-malaria medicine has been issued to US sevicemen? If so what is it? I don't believe it's been issued to UK troops in the region previously so I suspect it hasn't. Lariam is issued to UK forces and can have psychological side effects including but not limited to "having irrational thoughts" . I don't believe it's a factor here but I don't want to run to any conclusions. The Tornado downing poses another question. Why was a blip on radar, flying at a trajectory and speed not suitable for a missile and broadcasting IFF information engaged? David
bklovere2 0 #37 March 23, 2003 As a member of the armed forces I find it very upsetting that a fellow member would do this to their command. I prefer to view it as the actions of a person who does not have the mental maturity/capacity to serve and should have been weeded out during basic. We cannot sit over here and blame their ethnic background, religious beliefs or lack there of for what he did. Remember that the militaries around the world are made from the same people as exist in their societies and therefore are going to come from different backgrounds. Also please remember that for every one person who does something heinous like this there are many more with the same background that serve proudly and now feel ashamed of what happened.Laughter can be more satisfying than honor; more precious than money; more heart-cleansing than prayer.---Harriet Rochlin :)
kiltboy 0 #38 March 23, 2003 I'm a bit confused about your reply to what I posted so I'll assume that you replied to the last in the thread. Lariam can screw with your mental state and that was why I was asking if anyone knew if it had been issued. I don't think it will have been but the guy may have been taking it anyway. I understand where you are coming from (I served as a reservist myself). David

TB99 0 #41 March 23, 2003 Thanks, BK ... Those were the words I was going to say! Not every Arab-American is bad, I think it's just ignorance to think that ... there are a LOT of great Arab-Americans serving in this country's military ... Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked!
wmw999 2,560 #42 March 23, 2003 Thanks to you, too, for proving yet again that we have a lot of intelligent, balanced people serving our country. A lot of great Americans. Well, at least I assume you're in the military or were, from the avatar -- I'm on a very old PC right now and having trouble with looking at profiles. wmw999 2,560 #48 March 24, 2003 This is an awful time for you. And I'm sure it doesn't matter at all that they're all doing their best, does it. Take care, and take the help of everyone who offers it. And if no one does, ask. Really -- you deserve it for yourself, and for what your husband and family are giving up.
