Rookeskydiver 0 #1 March 24, 2003 I decided to do a 2-way sit w/ a friend of mine down @ skydive san diego. And as we were boarding the plane, this skinny dude w/ glasses comes up to me as ask if he could jump w/ us. I said "sure, no problem". Anywayz, the jump went great. and it turned out that this skinny dude amazed he shit out of me when he was flying circles around us. After we landed, this skinny dude introduces himself and it turned out to be Mike Ortiz, ex flyboy. I almost freaked out. I can believe that this guy actually took the time to jump with us. Especially someone w/ under a hundred jumps. Anywayz, i had to let you guys know how stoked i was to have jumped w/ this cool guy. AggieDave 6 #2 March 24, 2003 Yeah, Mike is one seriously cool guy! We did a kick-ass 2-way last time I was at Eloy. All I did was ask him if we could get a jump and he was all for it. He even took the time to give me a mini-debreif and some tips, even though I wasn't paying him for a coached jump. That's what this sport is about, giving something back, helping people out and having fun. He' definately did that with me. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
Kris 0 #3 March 24, 2003 Word. I got to meet Mike Ortiz a couple of years back at Skydive Dallas. Really intelligent guy, not the best public speaker, but a good dude with no ego.
