lewmonst 0 #29 March 23, 2003 hey quit tryin to hijack my thread! since i know you all care about my volleyball so much, i thought i'd give you the recap on the day. Tournament was "Open" level (the hardest available) with 6 solid teams. We started out letting our 5-month pregnant libero play... and well, it was time for her to take herself out... with her playing, we were 0-4 against two teams that had no business beating us. so then we left her out, and i played kickass defense and we fought back to finish 4-4 in pool play and take 3rd in pool, just barely breaking to tournament round. We beat the 2nd place team in the Semi-finals and had a great match losing to our sister team in the finals. It was fun, 12 hard games later, i am very sore and very tired. I'll go through the photos and post some later, cuase i know you all want to see more spandex. btw, we chose our team name from an old WFFC shirt i wear occasionally, "Airgasmic" check out our team ranking(not updated from today...) Kattus is who won. nice eh? ok... i'll stop rambling now cause i know you're not still reading about this anyway peacehttp://www.exitshot.com
wmw999 2,589 #30 March 23, 2003 HA! fooled you. I read every word, and congrats. There's nothing like being strong, quick, and smart, and having it work. Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. Deuce 1 #31 March 23, 2003 Lew, it sounds like in order to be able to play with you guys, you have to have come up through a progression of leagues where a new player has proven they are good enough to play with you. It sounds like competitive 4 way. Great when everything clicks, but not fun when it doesn't. Too much like work. Great pic, Cajones, great subject matter too! I think you're lucky, Lew, to have a group of people who test your limits. That's great. I get that from the camera fliers at my DZ. Pushpushpush. It's fun. CanuckInUSA 0 #32 March 23, 2003 Congrats on pulling the rabbit out of the hat when needed and making the tournament finals. And I can related to how you feel about your sport. Not only do I also play volleyball (at a less competitive calibre) but I also play some pretty competitive hockey. My hockey team finish the regular season in 1st place and we start our playoff run (we're also the defending champs) this Tuesday evening. Try not to worry about the things you have no control over
Zenister 0 #33 March 23, 2003 definately congrates on making the cut..way to pull it out. kinda suprising you let the pregger play as much as she did (i guess it makes it tough on defense if she counts as 2 on the court ) i miss that kind of competitive enviroment i wanted to start fencing again, until i discovered the 'supremacy of the flick" still dominates modern fencing..[rant]youd think they'd care about what does and doesnt work with live steel, but noooooo[/rant] actually Lew I'm in WA now, and i'm trying to think of a way not to feel lecherous and still go watch the amazons play... maybe if i leave the trench coat and binoculars at home ____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Yes, it is a community in which you have to prove yourself to even get on a good team... I love it. We still have fun when things aren't clicking... at least to me, i don't get stressed so much that i stop enjoying it, for what would be the point in playing. although i do get frustrated with people who suck or don't work hard enough, but then I don't ask them back to play on my team. it all works out. As promised... here is another action spandex photo. I have a great photographer too! and i'll throw in the family shot. the tourney was in my grandparents hometown, so my dad brought them by to watch. kewl eh? Gram is still amazed that we dive on the floor. peacehttp://www.exitshot.com
