Yoshi 0 #1 March 25, 2003 not be be an ass, but I think the fossil fuel world should be comming to an end. I personally think that it would be a good thing to not have that fuel available (at least to the US) that would only push our technology further and let us apply what we already can to lower pollution, and get one step closer the the "future" (that we see in movies)....I guess I am a little bit of a dreamer though...I would like to see some huge advancements in my lifetime...I just think it would be neat to see flying cars and shit like that by the end of my time.. -yoshi_________________________________________ this space for rent. kingbunky 3 #3 March 25, 2003 how about this scenario... everybody eats beans, tofu, burritos, cabbage and chili before a jump. replumb the oxygen system in the plane so it can extract methane from the jumpers. more farts, more altitude. Yoshi 0 #4 March 25, 2003 whats funny about that I have this book of inventions and patents thats call mousetraps to mufflecuffs....there is this one invention that was created in like 1850 or somewhere around there called the gas trap with a bag that hooks onto your belt (underneath clothing) and a tube that goes up your but to catch gas so its noiseless and stenchless:) maybe we could put those in production! -yoshi_________________________________________ this space for rent. skygod7777 0 #5 March 25, 2003 dude, that's a really bad idea. just think about it, we'd all pass out on the ride to altitude. but it's funny later

Or buy a diesel truck and fuel it with biodiesel. Or by a FFV and use alcohol to run your car. Or buy a hybrid vehicle; there are three available now. Change begins with you. Here's George Jetson!!... actually, yeah, if I were the prez I would pursue the alternative energy source thing the way we pursued the Space Race back in the '60s when we had the USSR breathing down our neck. America tends to get fat & lazy & rest on its laurels until something wakes itup, like what happened with Japanese autos during the '80s. We were successfully forced to improve our auto manufacturing when the Japanese were starting to kick our ass in the marketplace. I wish we could get away from this oil addiction soon, and that would put a stop to a lot of our need to f&*k around in the Middle East, and would be better for the environment. All of those products are produced by infrastructure which tie into the power grid, and what powers the power grid in over 70% of the world? Coal and oil ladies and gentlemen!! Where does diesel come from: Oil. What does diesel cause more of: emissions. Yes, let us all tap the EV Toyota and GM Impulse EV and commute together. Then we'll plug them in, together. We'll tax the powerplants, together. The powerplants will burn more coal and oil, together. Causing more pollution than cars, together. Risking overloading the aging Nuclear powerplants, together. Another idea: use less oil and gas by ensuring proper maintenance of your existing car. It's cheaper and just as good for the environment. Or, make the investment for a Natural Gas Vehicle (lot's of money to ensure you got plenty of NG though). Maybe a private tank. I agree with Bill that change must start at the consumer level. It does need to be a total, psychic change though. It has to be a wholesale departure from how we view transportation. As long as oil is available, it's going to burn in our cars and trucks. The psychic change will not occur until the last drop has been refined. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! I know that you've got a Honda and I've got a Prius on order but I hadn't heard of a third option. If it's available here I'd really like to take a look at it before the delivery of the Prius in a week or so... The two weeks I had a Prius demo I used around 20 litres of standard unleaded. In the normal family sedan (Commodore Executive pretty economical V6) I get through around 70 litres a fortnight. Seems like a good deal to me...Ooroo Mark F... There are two from Honda: Insight and a Civic Hybrid (definitely worth looking into, read C&Ds review) and the Prius. These three are the top in fuel efficiency. The Prius only comes available with a CVT-Automatic. The two Hondas you can get with a 5-speed if you want. For pure fuel economy and practicality, the VW Jetta TDI Wagon will run 40+MPG City/50+Hwy.So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light!
