Push 0 #1 March 26, 2003 One was performing at my University tonight. Needless to say I did not go to see that show. Here's a review of a similar thing happening: http://www.igoshows.com/reviews/review26.html What do you guys think? I think it's extremely cruel, and I'm ashamed that there are people in my environment that find this entertaining. This is a show that consists of people embarrassed and humiliated for the entertainment of a large audience. Roman circuses anyone? A lot of people tell me that the volunteers do so freely. Do they? How many people really understand how hypnosis works? What are the determining factors in your suggestibility? -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. TB99 0 #2 March 26, 2003 According to that review, it looked like the show really stunk and he didn't know what he was doing anyway ... I'm sure you didn't miss much! Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked!
Push 0 #3 March 26, 2003 What about the ones that didn't stink? How would you feel if someone told you that hypnosis is only effective to a degree and that you won't be made to do anything bad, and then you were woken up and found yourself stripped with a dildo up your ass in front of 200 people? What if you are a girl in the same scenario? Or worse, if you were given a post-hypnotic suggestion that never wore off? What's sad is that some people find this entertaining -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy. What are the determining factors in your suggestibility? You can find more info (and a lot of conflicting opinions) by running a Google search on "stage hypnosis." Anywho, your thread title reminds me of a They Might Be Giants song. "He's a hypnotist... (duh-duh) Hypnotist of ladies... (duh-duh) Don't have a pocket watch... (duh-duh) Never counted backwards.. TB99 0 #5 March 26, 2003 Yea, I think that an X-rated show like that is pretty sad. I'm sure the audience knows what kind of show they're heading to watch, and if they volunteer (this is assuming you know it's an X-rated show), then they know what they're getting into ... I personally think it's dumb and would NEVER volunteer to be hypnotized for any reason, but to each their own ... Trailer 11/12 was the best. Thanks for the memories ... you guys rocked! Zenister 0 #6 March 26, 2003 heh i remember the Cheers episode where Frasier and Lilith were arguing over its credibility..Frasier kept tossing out words like "tamborine" at which she would start to unbutton her blouse

jillr 0 #8 March 26, 2003 if J. Medicinehat ever comes to your area- catch him. His shows are a riot, altho I've only been to three of his R rated shows- all of his shows are adult shows and on Monday nights at the funny bone in Omaha he has an X rated version. About as bad as his R shows get is someone playing an inflatable penis as guitar or when the tempeture rises people take of a layer of clothing... Edited to say- he makes it very clear that you're coming on stage of your own free will and he is going to make you do stupid stuff, we will laugh at you and there will be pictures. If you can't handle that- then don't come on stage. All hypnotists should (and probably do at least try to) make that clear- and if you get on stage, don't expect anyone to feel sorry for you when you do something stupid and make an ass out of yourself. Medicinehat is a rehabed drug addict. He smokes and drinks his fair share. He's spent some time in lock up and wears his harley leather proudly, working that all into the show. Trust me this guy doesn't sound like the real deal and if you catch Medicinehat's show you won't walk away disappointed in the hypnotism.
