skycat 0 #26 March 26, 2003 Well I'm not saying it's the healthiest, but when I'm sick I always crave carbs in the form of pasta and rice. I'm guessing it's cause my body need quick energy to help fight the bad bugs. I'm one of those people that if I crave something it must be something my body needs (ie, meat=protien, milk products=calcuim), since I don't crave sweets or anything like that.....I just want those. Fly it like you stole it!
jtval 0 #27 March 26, 2003 sounds wierd but Ive proven this to myself 1,000 times! eat a clove of garlic and wash it down with a glass of water.....It helps if you stay away from ppl for a day but you will feel better with in 12-24 hours! If youre looking for something to fix your stomach it should be FLAT ginger ale. (if your gonna do the ginger ale thing) the carb will not help. I dont care for that anymore either Andrea! lol weird huh?My photos My Videos
ltdiver 3 #28 March 27, 2003 Quote Quote Never really understood about the chicken soup thing. That's because you've never HAD chicken soup. Duh! Tofurkey soup ISN'T the same thing either. Well, duh...yeah. However, what exactly in the chicken soup works to sooth the stomach? ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

ltdiver 3 #30 March 27, 2003 Quote I had cookies with ice cream and hot fudge on top of them on Monday when I was "sick." I feel great now, and I even lost 1 1/2 poinds! Cookies and ice cream are the key to wellness. Ya know, it's funny you should mention this. (note: I've been needing to lighten the lead load I've been wearing during jumps as it's damaging my shoulder now). ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

NoShitThereIWas 0 #34 March 27, 2003 Dear ltdiver, I hope you are feeling better but just in case you aren't, Dr. Jenny recommends as many hot fluids as possible. I drink lots of tea with honey and have always loved the Lipton's Noodle Soup since I was a kid. Wonton soup from a good Chinese restaurant is always a good call or if you're lucky enough to live near a deli that serves Kreplach soup that is my personal favorite. I also have had lots of luck with an over the counter medicine called Alpha CF (Cold and Flu). It is great for sore throats and the flu. I am telling you this stuff works like magic. You dissolve 1-2 tablets under your tongue and they have Zinc and I don't know what else in them but they work great. Good luck and hope you feel better! Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." ltdiver 3 #35 March 27, 2003 Jennifer! Thanks for the input. I've been living on hot tea and water while at work. Soup and Cream of Wheat at home. And of course, ~toast~! Since I'm a vegetarian, the chicken soup variety isn't in my cupboards nor on my list of digestibles. I like the idea of Lipton soup...think they have some varieties that would work for me. Zinc...yeah I remember that being a crucial element to my healing 15 years ago...brought my sense of taste back in line after a high impact injury. Thanks for the reminder. That, along with vitamin 'C'. I've been sipping on orange juice tonight. If this thing doesn't kick it by the weekend I'll try the Alpha CF stuff you listed here. The store's right on my way home from work... ltdiver btw, I jumped at your DZ last February. Fantastic view there at Monterey. My alma mater is just up the road from you there...on the beach just past the smoke stacks. :^) Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
NoShitThereIWas 0 #36 March 27, 2003 Hi Ltdiver, I am not sure if the Lipton's Noodle soup has any animal products in the broth but it otherwise is a meatless soup. It has been a while since I was a vegetarian so I don't read the labels much anymore but I can tell you that I don't like the soups with meat in them either, I think they are kind of gross. Hope that helps!Roy Bacon: "Elvises, light your fires." Sting: "Be yourself no matter what they say."

The high school that I attended and graduated from is MBA...right up the coast from you there. :^) Used to be a military base back in WWII, then was bought and coverted to a wonderful school that just celebrated it's 50 year anniversary. Right on LaSelva beach.
