rhino 0 #1 March 28, 2003 The Marines took an MSNBC reporter through the Hospital that was captured recently. They found a room described as a turture chamber with a battery in it. The camera panned down to show the battery and guess what is said on the side.. FRANCE Go figure.. lol Rhino
mnischalke 0 #2 March 28, 2003 Yeah, but you know, as our friends around here will point out, that was the "American media" following around US Marines. That battery was prolly put there by the CIA (or space aliens--I like space aliens) to prove we need to invade France next. As you know, those same people will be saying "Its about the bread!!!!" rgoper 0 #3 March 28, 2003 torture chamber in a hospital? i swear, what will they come up with next? well, i guess it makes sense, this way, if the torture gets out of hand and the poor goomer needs medical attention...VIOLA! he's already there! wmw999 2,589 #4 March 28, 2003 My sanity checker says more information would be useful. While I'm perfectly willing to believe that Iraq has government-sanctioned torture going on, I really don't understand why it would be in a hospital, when prisions are so much better for the purpose. If it's a military hospital, that's different. Also, are any conclusions being jumped to? I think we'd feel like real asses if it turns out that the battery is for equipment that needs to be portable. Their hospital won't be up the same standards ours are. The last thing I don't understand is why exactly a French battery makes it worse. I don't think that the purchase order would say the reason. And if the French are responsible because they made the battery, then wouldn't that make gun manufacturers responsible for criminal killings commited with their guns? Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. Their hospital won't be up the same standards ours are. The things hooked to the end of the battery terminals would indicate it wasn't for equipment. rhino 0 #13 March 28, 2003 12 volt battery? I don't think so.. Looked more like the contraption on Lethal Weapon to me.. They did say the boxes with the gas masks had u.s. markings on them.

We have some of those 'contraptions' at my DZ for a power system I desgined. (24 volt 1760 amp-hour battery array.) They say 'trojan battery' on them. Doesn't mean that the same company that makes condoms is involved with torturing people. Apperances can be deceiving. Really, Rhino, no one makes torture batteries. Hey Rhino, I think what Bill was suggesting is that it's just a battery and that it had to come from somwhere. The French (or whoever sold them the battery) could have had no idea that it would eventually end up being used for torture. Would you blame Sears if the battery were labeled DieHard? - Jim"Like" - The modern day comma Good bye, my friends. You are missed.

TB99 0 #23 March 30, 2003 All I can say is don't believe everything you see on our news ... remember, we are also fighting a propoganda war, and our news is censored ... not saying it was or wasn't real, just keep that propoganda war in mind and take it with a grain of salt. Even before the war I'd been getting most of my International news from foreign sources. It really is amazing how poorly these issues are covered in the US. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
