AggieDave 6 #1 March 31, 2003 So its 3pm and I just poured myself a drink. This is a study break for me, being all stressed out with this paper. The paper IS the grade for my Senior level history course. The paper is up to about 12 pages long now and I'm not near being done. Its due by Thursday (the earlier the better for the prof), and I feel like I need another month to get it exactly right. Agggghhhh...its a good thing I got a whole lot of jumps this weekend, or I would be seriously hurt'n.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." lizzieb 0 #2 March 31, 2003 naw...it's never too early besides, it will relax you and then the pages will really start flowing... good luck with the paper!!!
AggieDave 6 #3 March 31, 2003 I've only got about 20 more pages to write. Atleast all my research is done.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."
lizzieb 0 #4 March 31, 2003 the research is always the hardest part...now you just have to get in the writing groove and coast on through till the end what is your paper topic?

jessd 0 #6 March 31, 2003 It's not to early at all to pour yourself a drink. Plus, you need to relax a little before you really get working on the paper. I was the queen of procrastination when I was in college. I'm sure the paper will turn out just fine. staticnewbie 0 #7 March 31, 2003 Mate, if the pub's open, how can it possibly be too early? It's when your friends and a pool table enter the equation that you have to worry about work. If you keep drinking you may find a worrying number of "therefore"s and "however"s creeping into your paper. This username sucks, so I'm BBKid now instead. moodyskydiver 0 #10 April 1, 2003 Ugh! I hate research papers! But then again, being a Criminal Justice major our final grade includes taking a trip to the Huntsville,Tx prison system...including a walk-through of the death chamber. NoShitThereIWas 0 #13 April 1, 2003 Hi AggieDave, I feel your pain and can so relate. I too am working on a physics research paper. Wanna trade? My advice, pour yourself a drink if that relaxes you and helps you to focus. For me, the trick is coffee and lots of it along with some good tunes to burn the midnight oil. A little time inflicted pressure to get the job done and the contemplation of feeling the end result accomplished also helps me stay on top of it. Don't stress over it though, just do it. masher 1 #14 April 1, 2003 Hey, my degree is being done by research. I have to submit in about 16 months. I have a limit of 100,000 words. Excluding appendicies, table, and illustrative matter.-- Arching is overrated - Marlies

Beerlight 0 #18 April 1, 2003 QuoteMan, you make me homesick! reply] Me homesick too....but, I'm returning in just a few short weeks and then permanently this summer, I hope! And I forgot a couple things.....the Mexican freetail bats flying at Austin (cool), and margaritas, and friggin breakfast tacos, the bonfire, South Padre during spring break (waking up with seagulls diving on ya), Shiner Bock, Freebirds burritos (food!), the drive between Houston and SA, the sunsets!
 Slink2 0 #20 April 1, 2003 Sounds like you have a good start anyway. Keep pluggin away at it! This reminds me of my own paper crisis while in college. It was due in 5 days, and I have only a general idea of a topic. Worse yet my relationship with my long time sweet heart is on the rocks. I arrange a trip to see her at her college for a 3 day meeting. So here I am in an Amtrak lounge car for 13 hours (Lakeshore Limited) speeding toward Syracuse, NY trying to write this paper all the while worrying about the relationship. Needless to say the paper "bombed" and so did the relationship some time later. What is it they say about college being about deeper lessons of life? Dave forget the paper, go SKYDIVE!
