chopchop 0 #35 March 31, 2003 :12:0 another great weekend in Monterey... although Jen avoided the spanking hand and getting in the air wiht my camera... SBS came up so I got some nice 2-ways in with him, a bunch of other stuff including one where I saw a young jumper's pocket contents (wallet included) spread across the sky... and a really nice sunset jump last night. It starts off with a beach tour in the Otter, then we go to altitude and sbs and I are going to sting a little 3-way hybrid. Well... as we sort of expected, it was a mess on exit and I am off to the side hugging the beachball and I see the hanger 1,000 ft below me and I am trying to get back up to the little formation gone awry when much to my surprise... I look over to see a beautiful tee in the sky... SBS took the hanger's slot and was just hanging there like he was supposed to be there the whole time. So I boogied on over and had some fun with it until he dropped away. He is such a freak.. pics tonight. chopchop gotta go... Plaything needs a spanking.. Lotsa Pictures
Vallerina 2 #36 March 31, 2003 20:15:3 Okay, those aren't really my numbers...but I wanted to look like one of the cool kids! My actual numbers: I stole 3 things this weekend:0:0 I learned many interesting things this weekend....one of these things being all about men. Girls, you need to go see "How To Lose a Guy in 10 Days." Did anyone else know that men don't like it when you call their stuff "Princess Sophia"? That was news to me!There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
riddler 0 #37 March 31, 2003 Quote1 for the broken arm (or does that count) If it's your first broken bone during a skydive, it calls for beer. 2:2:1 Bad weather on Saturday (or did Canuck already say that?) and ... 1 new rig!! Beer pending because I didn't decide to keep it until I finally managed to jump it on susnset load yesterday. Voodoo/Lotus 150 - quite a step up from my triathalon 190, but handles and lands great.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
pd190 0 #38 March 31, 2003 Here's how my weekend turned out.... 0:5:0 Saturday: Woke up early to set up the beach DZ. Guys had been talking about doing beach jumps for a month now, so I thought it was time to get it on! We started with a(1) Hop N Pop over the airfield to check the spot for future tandems /we still spot by eye and SWAG's/ Right after that, (2) Hop N Pop on the beach. Landed dead on, the winds were perfect. ((PS. Girls in bikini's in March rock!)) Next load-(3)planned 5point 4 way. No Problems. (4) Beach jump-agian!!! Beach jumps rock!!!! (5) Hop N Pop due to clouds (whoops-industrial haze) coming in. The ceiling went from 15,000 to 7,000 in about 4 minutes. Didn't get any on Sunday because of yucky, nasty weather. Got some good training on reserve packing and helped guys with gear cleaning and maintenance. *Beer will be owed next weekend due to a promotion from work. SkymonkeyONE 4 #41 March 31, 2003 I think I managed 0:4:0 on Saturday. It rained cats and dogs all day Sunday. Of particular note was a very nice 6-way with myself, two guys from the Swiss 4-way team, DragonTail, MattM, and Droopy. Also of note were some very stylish downwind swoops through the course. wmw999 2,566 #42 March 31, 2003 0:0:1 (letter from the homeowner's association) They sent me a letter saying that my bricks have mildew all over them, and I need to pressure wash my house. Give me a break -- we're not allowed pastel or bright colors, plastic lawn ornaments, sealed fences, weathervanes, canvas roofs on playsets, or anything else that smacks of originality. I have some green ones where I pulled up some bushes. Obviously we have different standards, and someone needs something more interesting to do than drive around looking for green bricks. Maybe I'll offer them skydiving lessons. Wendy W. There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. psuCory 0 #43 March 31, 2003 :11:One lucky jump Thursday... running from the parking lot (turning on the Cypress) to the plane ... oh yea, 5 minute call for sunset load, I can do this.
