skygal3 0 #6 March 31, 2003 The bats around here are pretty cool. I used to sit out on the dock after the sun went down and watch them swoop the water bugs. Heck, anything that swoops is pretty cool with me
Jessica 0 #7 March 31, 2003 It's getting tired. It can't maintain altitude. It's just making slow laps around the elevators, close to the floor. Poor bat. Skydiving is for cool people only

skygal3 0 #11 March 31, 2003 There were birds in our grocery store a few years ago that would swoop little old ladies. And the bread. I thought they were great. Management wasn't too happy with them. Stuffed shirts. [shrug] During the Fall a bunch of critters would make their way into my laundry room, and I would catch them with a havahart trap before my kitties found them. I caught a mole once. It was so cute, I wanted to keep it--until it started to emit a really noxious odor.

Dumpster 0 #16 March 31, 2003 QuoteThe bats around here are pretty cool. I used to sit out on the dock after the sun went down and watch them swoop the water bugs. Heck, anything that swoops is pretty cool with me I wanted to build a couple bat-houses for the yard here, to help control the skeeters in the summer- (we live near a river-) The project got scrapped when Sharon found out what they were for. The wife hates bats- I love watching them gobble up bugs, and they're alot better than chemical warfare. Easy Does It
Iflyme 0 #17 March 31, 2003 I'm with you, Dumpster ... bats are cool! We have many around our yard --- eating the gad-zillions of mosquitos from the swamp about 30 metres from the house ... I drove on one of my daughter's school field trips last year to the nature house at one of the local parks ... the naturalists had a great "bat" program. Let's find those plans for bat-houses!
