linestretch 0 #1 June 10, 2012 I have a Brother TZ1-B652, the manual says to run the thread thru the bobbin 'eye' when doing a zig-zag....and not to when running a straight stitch. I've tried it both ways with straight & zig-zag but don't notice any difference. More so....why? Anyone know about this and it's purpose?my pics & stuff! gowlerk 2,253 #2 June 11, 2012 I don't know what the theory is. The b/c on my 20u also has the pigtail. Sometimes I use it, and sometimes not. It doesn't seem to matter much. Using it does add a little to the bottom tension though. I would guess that it's supposed to keep the bottom thread centered during the extreme right left swing of the needle when doing a wide zigzig.
