rhino 0 #1 April 4, 2003 Watched every video I could find.. It is b.s. Oil fires are burning all around Baghdad and the camera did a 360 degree pan. Not a single fire burning. That boy is dead. They are reaching now.. Rhino
billvon 3,120 #2 April 4, 2003 That would be nice, but he seems pretty indestructible based on all the previous assassination attempts. But it does raise an interesting question. Let's say Saddam and his two sons are verified dead. What then? We will have accomplished our stated objective; does the war just continue on as if he was still alive? BBKid 0 #3 April 5, 2003 If you look closely, you can indeed see smoke from the oil fires in the background. Also a BBC reporter said he recognised the location because he was there four days earlier investigating the shelling there. So whoever it was, he was there four days ago at the earliest. Shame, I thought we'd killed the ba*%@rd too. Nick --------------------------- "I've pierced my foot on a spike!!!"
quade 4 #4 April 5, 2003 I heard that a there are something on the order of 100 Saddam doubles. Aziz gathered then all in one room the other day. However, he is now missing a leg."quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
SpeedRacer 1 #5 April 5, 2003 100 saddam doubles? I heard there were only eight. Oh well, there's all kinds of info/dis-info flying around in a war, we'l;l never know the truth til its over. billvon: I don't know if just getting rid of Saddam & Sons will end the war, if some of the higher-up Baathists are still in power. It's kind of like, you could kill Hitler, but Goering, Goebbels, Himmler, etc would still carry on. You have to defeat the armed forces one way or another (ie, in battle, or when they give up because they finally learn that there's no commanding level to fight for anymore, and that could take time for them to find that out.) quade 4 #6 April 5, 2003 The previous post was just a joke. To me the issue is how will we ever know if we actually "got" him or not? From what I understand, we do not have a DNA sample from him.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
rhino 0 #7 April 5, 2003 QuoteWe will have accomplished our stated objective; does the war just continue on as if he was still alive? Not really... 100 Iraqi Generals that will take his place.. They all have to be removed. The whole regime. Rhino
rhino 0 #8 April 5, 2003 I looked very closely.. Those were clouds in that video. It was an overcast day. He is dead.. I'd bet 50 of his one legged doubles are too The Iraqi's are saying that the airport will be taken back tonight by unconventional forces. Let's see.. 1,500 Marined against an unknown number of Iraqi's. My bet is on the Marines... These are battle hardened MF's...
