SpeedRacer 1 #3 April 7, 2003 weird. This is being presented as though it were new reseach, but it's not. It's been well known that thw world was warmer and drier in the Middle AGes than it is today. Evidence: There used to be a bunch of settlements all over Greenland in 1100 AD, but things gradually got colder so that by 1600 or so, there were only towns on the southern edge. Not new at all. Starting in the 20th century things warmed up a bit, but yes, they're not as warm as they were back in 1100. The thing is, they seem to be warming up much faster than they cooled down.
