jerry81 10 #2 April 7, 2003 How big? What shape? And did you do anything that might have caused it- e.g. slept poorly/not at all (for several consecutive nights), got drunk, got high, stabbed yourself in the eye with a needle... If it's not too serious Visine or similar over-the-counter eyedrops should probably help.

jerry81 10 #6 April 7, 2003 Quote To the other reply, Visine is one of the worst things to use in your eyes. Actually, I'm aware of that. It's definitely not something you'd want to use constantly (your eyes can get addicted to it, and quite literally at that- I know from first-hand experience). If the spot is no too big and if it bothers you a pharmacist should know how to help. If it gets any bigger, starts irritating your eye or messing up your vision- go see a doctor. Still- do you have any idea what could have caused this?
hooked 0 #7 April 7, 2003 No, I don't have any idea. Aren't there any eyecare people posting on here? I want to do a jump while I'm here in AZ and I'm worried if it's a broken blood vessel, will the airpressure cause a problem? sunshine 2 #8 April 8, 2003 Quoteit could just be a burst blood vessel ----------------------------------------------------------- Well, that's what I thought, but could it be serious? I burst a bunch of blood vessels in my eye before. Along with a bunch of them on my face. (It was from choking). Don't worry too much about it. It's one of those things that just happens. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug!

I am going to keep watch on it and see what it looks like tomorrow. It's kind of scary to look in your eye and see this red blotch, especially when you are away from home and can't just call your own eye doctor.! Michele 1 #11 April 8, 2003 Hi, Jan. If there isn't any pain and/or headaches, if the spot doesn't seem to have gotten much larger, if your eye is not watering more than usual, and if there are no "new spots", then I think it's o.k. to jump. Don't worry so much if it seems to grow slightly larger...like a bruise is simply blood under the skin and it "spreads", it's similar in the eye. When I was getting ready for the surgery, I burst one in my eye. Scary as all hell, but when I called the Dr. at 6 in the morning, and he saw me early that day, he laughed....it wasn't anything even connected to the tumor, just one of those things. Might've happened when I sneezed, or blew my nose, or whatever. Any sudden increase in pressure around the eyes could've done it. Some people get them from pressurized cabins in planes for long times. Did you fly down to AZ? Also, when it gets exceptionally dry v. what you are used to (Seattle/Renton, right?? quite humid/wet) that might also create it, similar to getting bloody noses when it's really arid. And sometimes, it just happens, too. Lastly, if you are really concerned, there should be a Lenscrafters or something similar (inexpensive, glasses-in-an-hour kinda place) which should have a Drs office attached. Stop in and tell the receptionist your concern, and I am sure a quick peek by the Dr. will allay your concerns... And don't worry, they have good opthomologists and optometrists in AZ.... Have a great vacation, and yes, by all means, jump!!! Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
