ALERT: Serious <<<Good Vibes>>> Needed!

Found out last night that Seattle Skydiver Ben "Superman" Jacobson (in background of photo; see also the top row of the SSD photos page, you may also remember the "Caption the Photo" contest won by Brian Goff last October on Dropzone.com), is being treated for pancreatic cancer at Virginia Mason Med Ctr in downtown Seattle.

Please send prayers or good vibes his way ASAP, and give his website a visit, and give him a call or a visit if you can.

Good vibes coming that way. I'm sure we can all come up with some. Pancreatic cancer is bad juju.

Yes it is, but his prognosis thus far is very good, since the main tumor was OUTSIDE his pancreas ().

Ben's a freeflyer and a very cool customer, and at the Seattle Skydivers Meeting last night, we were all joking about him, saying that since he already shaves his head, chemo won't make him look much different...:o:)

However, he's got to undergo Chemo-sabe now, so if people would be so kind as to sign his logbook or send him an email, it'll help a lot.

He said on his website that he really likes getting people to put stuff into the guestbook -- so y'all go do that, y'hear? And I was glad to hear the news about the tumor.

Since Ben is a very good friend, I have spending time everyday in the hospital with him. I saw him an hour after his surgery, and all things considered, he looked amazing and he continues to do well. Everyday he looks and feels a lot better. The road ahead is going to be a tough one though with chemo and radiation so please keep the good vibes coming.

He really enjoys reading the guestbook. His girlfriend, Shannon, prints it out for him every couple days since he doesn't have internet access at the hospital.

They're printing off the guestbook to read just about every day -- so make sure there's plenty of stuff in there. Pointers to pictures, whatever.
