mickb 0 #26 April 10, 2003 Get the bike. Much more fun and just great for nipping around. Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed. Michael Pritchard.
RevJim 0 #27 April 10, 2003 QuoteI'd get the bike too. I just got a laptop and I like it, but I'd get the bike. The laptop'll keep you inside, the bike'll get you outside. Make sure you can carry your gear on it. Wendy W. Nah. She needs the laptop. How else is she gonna whore around DZ.com at the WFFC? Borrow Andy's again? Nah, she NEEDS a laptop, and yes, she'll use it outside. It's your life, live it! SkymonkeyONE 4 #29 April 10, 2003 Two words: used enduro. I am kind of jonesing an old enduro myself, just for sporting around the dropzone. The RedBone Express is far too impractical for such rudimentary tasks (besides only sitting one inch off the ground. An old '70's Yamaha would be stylin. BikerBabe 0 #30 April 10, 2003 I bet you can guess what MY vote was!! The computer stuff will all be obsolete in 6 months anyway, so buy something that will last and help pay for itself in the long run with gas prices and fun factor...go with the bike. RevJim 0 #33 April 10, 2003 But, with a newer computer, she could contribute that much more to the folding effort. Actually, come to think of it, I don't see Lisa on the board for this. nacmacfeegle 0 #34 April 10, 2003 Actually Lisa, I think you should blow the loot on a trip to Amsterdam this summer, and then demand that the Euro dizzydotcommers come party with you. You'll fall off the bike, the pooter will crash, and you could probably pick a tax free rio (mp3 player) in Schiphol for a reasonable fee.-------------------- He who receives an idea from me, receives instruction himself without lessening mine; as he who lights his taper at mine, receives light without darkening me. Keith 0 #38 April 10, 2003 You could bid on me. Seems no one wants to bid $100 on a homo these days except Brian, but he only has 37 cents and Bets won't let him bid just 37 cents; I'd let him bid 37 cents, but Bets won't So clearly you have to bid on me to help HH out (who by the way, didn't give you the boot after the whole log off fiasco), and you'd be helping my fragile self esteem at the same time Keith Don't Fuck with me Keith - J. BBKid 0 #40 April 10, 2003 Save up more to get a better bike. If you must have an enduro, Triumph Tigers are the shit. People shift out of your way quicker than a guy running to a checkout with a huge pack of toilet paper. Comfy too. I'd still rather have my sporty 2-stroke though. If you really can't decide, lend me the money - I need new bodywork, clutch lever, footpeg, gear shift and exhaust cans (it leans further than I thought ). riggerrob 643 #41 April 10, 2003 Lisa, Opt for something that increases your mobility. So now it is a toss-up between bike or lap-top. Tiny electronic gadgets are marvelous for increasing mobility. Why just this morning I was utilizing Sir Thomas Crapper's finest invention when J.C. Colclasure phoned. My cell phone permitted a marvelous conversation and J.C. never knew what I was wearing! Hee! Hee! You are correct in stating that a motorbike would significantly reduce commuting costs, allowing you to focus your finances on more important things. Oh and if you get bored, you could take more "creative" routes home i.e. riding along the canals. Just do us all a favor and get a bike with a decent muffler. Looks like the bike is the winner! Brokeneagle 0 #46 April 10, 2003 Hmmmmm, if that's the stuff you want, I'd say the laptop-- you can always just download a free player for basic usage or get one of the fancier ones on sale....dunno about the flatscreen, I'm so used to the old type, they just look strange- 'n I'd have to vote against the bike, having received 63 stitches sewn in a smile pattern across my right thigh whilst attempting to self-teach riding a motorcycle....yep Brokeneagle.
