Tacking Icarus soft links

Recommended Posts

You don't have to go trough the center of the soft link tab. If you tack only the corner where the material is soft it's still good enough.

Slinks are a PD product.
Other manufacturers have their own soft/semi-soft/textile links.
Did the canopy come with PD Slinks or "Other" ?
VB I believe that your Safire is a NZ Aerosport/Icarus canopy, right ?
AFAIK CIMSA/Icarus canopies come on Rapide links.

I am not saying I am right or trying to enter any pissing contest. I can't remember having installed a NZ canopy, and the Spanish canopies I have installed all had Rapide links.

yup, nzaerosports.

cant really tell if it was "sinks" or "rapide links" (i wouldnt know the difference), they were the textile-tab-thingies, coming from an exotic destination like honduras or the like..

The Slinks by PD are made out of Spectra and webbing (all textile)
The Rapide links (aka Maillon Rapide, French Links) are the all-metal "solid" links
