PLFXpert 0 #1 April 14, 2003 Just how cool it is we can skydive? I have thoroughly enjoyed jumping since I began. I think sometimes I take advantage of the mere fact that we can do it; that someone came up with the idea to begin with and people since then have modified, improved and defined the sport. Just watching old video's last night (high as a kite) I just got to thinking how amazing it is that we can do what we do and how special we are that we know what we know. Anyone else just have an epiphany like that every once in a while?Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.
Cornholio 0 #2 April 14, 2003 Sure I get those kind every once in a while. It is great to think that we are the few that get to enjoy the view of the world from a different perspective - away from the rug-rat race and the traffic, and the people. But more often I get the ones in the plane on the ride up. I think to myself " Self, what the fuck were you thinking ? Are you stooopid ??" But then the thought goes away almost as immediately as it came and I jump out the door. Usually those thoughts come if I don't jump for more than a couple weeks. Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
bbarnhouse 0 #3 April 14, 2003 PLF~ Nice to see you! I remind myself on a dialy basis just how fortunate I am to be able to follow a dream and look to the sky. I wake up with the thoughts of the people that enrich my life in a profound way. Skydivers...they're just way cool!

I'm usually stoked as hell to get in the plane; and impatient as hell on the ride up. Paint me in a corner, but my color comes back.

I have a stack of video's that go back to 1997 but I find I really cant watch my old video's much, as they contain friends who have moved away, or have died, I miss the camraderie of the first group of friends, we did everything together.....movies, bar hopping, woman chasing...(even the gals did it) but then in the space of one summer everything changed........ several died, others moved away.... cherish the good feelings and hopefully your best times wont ever become the most painfull memories you have...... sorry, I am in a depressed state today. RoyThey say I suffer from insanity.... But I actually enjoy it.
