mujie96 0 #1 April 16, 2003 Somewhat related to the nose piercing thread.....what kind of facial piercings do you have and did they interfere with your jumping while they healed? I'm kinda torn right now-nose, eyebrow, lahbret, or the one that looks like a mole. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....
AggieDave 6 #2 April 16, 2003 Can't say what I have, since I don't have one... But, I think nose piercings are really damned ugly.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

skybytch 273 #5 April 16, 2003 I had a small ring in my right eyebrow for awhile. Didn't affect jumping much at all; it laid down nicely under goggles. Might have been bothersome in the middle of summer (think sweat).
mujie96 0 #6 April 16, 2003 To each his (or her) own. Now seriously, who had em and did you have to wait to jump or otherwise protect them? I tape my belly if I'm wearing a baby T, my nipples I generally leave alone, I've got a pretty big guage in them now. I'd probably tape them too though if I were to do another topless or nekked jump. QuickDraw 0 #7 April 16, 2003 Have my nose done both sides (although i have had nothing in for about 3 years now) and i did have my neck pierced in 1992 (long before everyone & his dog started to go exotic), but that grew out after about 8 weeks, i had it just below my adams apple in that little hollowed out bit, and still have a scar there. -- Hope you don't die. -- I'm fucking winning
mujie96 0 #8 April 16, 2003 Did that HEAL? Someone told me it wouldn't since you're not really piercing through something, just kind of lifting the skin. I had all my piercings before they were cool too. They're just kind of part of me. Just keep swimming...just keep swimming....
FeetFlyer 0 #9 April 16, 2003 Even though I don't have any piercings of my own I think they are beautiful. But please don't do the molepiercing.. it looks like a wart! But a ring or "spike" in the center of the lower lip looks awesome on girls. <>
QuickDraw 0 #10 April 16, 2003 Quote Did that HEAL? Sort of i suppose, i had a bcr in (ball closed ring) which was about 3mm thick by about 15 - 20mm Dia. Like i said, it grew out and the supporting skin just became thinner and i have a white scar there now which is about 10mm long (on the horizontal). I do not regret it as it looked way cool and made people feel sick when i turned it. -- Hope you don't die. -- I'm fucking winning

Take care with the ones on the nips. Chest straps have been known to catch 'em and tear 'em off. Can ya say "Owie!" ? "The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." Jessica 0 #12 April 16, 2003 QuoteChest straps have been known to catch 'em and tear 'em off. Does anyone know if this has ever happened on a clothed jump? Seems to me a shirt and bra and jumpsuit offer enough protection that one wouldn't have to worry about it. I would be extremely hesitant to do a topless jump with them, especially after hearing Kelly's description of what happened to that girl at x-keys. mujie96 0 #13 April 16, 2003 I must hear that at least 500 times a day at the DZ but thanks. I believe that if my 10 guage rings had enough pressure exerted on them to yank them out I'd probably notice beforehand. I have friends that jump shirtless with smaller guages. I'm not sure what the young lady who made PArachutist's incident reports had in but I'd bet it was a thin guage. The only problem I've ever had was a little irritation on one side after jumping a borrowed rig, and the piercing was irritated anyway bacause I was working somewhere where I had to wear latex over the nipples and I am apparently super sensitive to the nasty stuff. Keith 0 #14 April 16, 2003 I have a labret. Never had any trouble skydiving although learning to eat without chomping on it was interesting.Keith Don't Fuck with me Keith - J. Mandeville

fundgh 0 #16 April 16, 2003 Labrets look the best on both genders, the mole thing is ok, but usually not complimentary to the face, the nose would look good on the right face, Eyebrows, neck, and other surface peircings tend to be rejected by the body. It is no fun having a piercing of any guage catch a piece of clothing...I had my apadravia (see Genetile Piercings) catch my boxers when I was skating, and it pretty much convinced me to remove it. So choose wisely! ...FUN FOR ALL!

mujie96 0 #18 April 16, 2003 Heehee, I wore freefly pants and nothing underneath on a hottish Hawaii day once...never again....although I think I gave some people an eyeful checking for damage in the middle of the landing area.
