mouth 0 #1 April 16, 2003 I just saw a post from Scotty C that ASC in Cedartown (outside ATL) is having a $99 boogie this weekend. Skydive ATL has had a $99 boogie scheduled for some time. My thought is that is just wrong. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems like it would be better to schedule stuff like this for different weekends so jumpers can take advantage of each. When they get there if you want to try and woo them to your DZ permantly then you can do some wining and dining. Just my thoughts. quade 4 #4 April 16, 2003 It's just normal business competition. Think about it this way, you're driving your car and you're low on gas. You see two gas stations right next to each other. Gas at one is $1.50 and at the other one it's $1.75. Which gas station are you going to pull into? My guess is that the majority of people go to the one with the $1.50 gas, so he gets ALL the business that day and the other guy gets nothing. If the guy with the $1.75 gas lowers his price to $1.50 then he at least has a 50/50 shot at your business that day. If you think that drop zones don't look at each other's events calendars and try to match deals, then your not giving them credit for being business people at all! I'm simply saying that it seems underhanded to come up at the last minute doing stuff like this. Go figure. I know it is business but it just seems the best way to get the business is to have your own day and try to make it special, not just a way to try and draw people from another place. I plan on being at Skydive ATL from Friday on so I'm not even considering ASC (even though I would love to meet Scotty and Tami).
