mnischalke 0 #3 April 17, 2003 Am I missing something? This is new? I got my 2001 SIM from the old site two+ years ago. It just took three days to download and print. The 2003 version has been on the old site for a wile too. This time around tho, I paid the $25 bux and got the bound version. mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills. PhillyKev 0 #4 April 17, 2003 QuoteAm I missing something? This is new? Not new, but back to the way it should be. There was a controversy last year because they didn't put out a .pdf version of the 2002 SIM. Just an abbreviated html version. Basically they were trying to squeeze money out of us by making us buy it if we wanted the full version.
BoobieCootie 0 #5 April 17, 2003 A few months ago there was a huge whatever you want to call it because the USPA did not offer a downloadable copy of the 2003 SIM. Buying a bound copy or viewing it on their site were the only choices. There had been some attempts to convince the USPA to provide a free downloadable manual for all. There was some resistance But we all got along in the end

AndyMan 7 #8 April 17, 2003 In an email conversation last year, Kevin Gibson (USPA director of communications) explained to me that they could not afford to post a free copy of the SIM online. He outlined plans to put the SIM back with a credit card payment mechanism. Incidentally, at the same time as saying they couldn't afford to give away a copy of the SIM online, the USPA was moving forward with building a museum and new offices. The dichotomy struck me as offensive. I'm thrilled to see the SIM back online. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.

Not to mention putting an abbreviated version on line that was multiple linked html pages that probably cost them more than the $250 for an adobe acrobat full version license which is all you need to post it online legally. But, we've already gonoe through all this
