Last Night #2

I dropped by the record store and picked up a copy of Lisa Marie Presley's new CD "To Whom It May Concern". Nice little rockin' album and it includes a copy of her music video for the song "Lights Out".

The entire album has kind of a dark side to it as she sings about different aspects of being the daughter of the world's most famous rock artist.

For example, here's just a tiny bit of the lyrics to "Lights Out"

Next to them there in Memphis in the damn back lawn."

Yeah, THAT'S pretty dark.

And watching the video I just couldn't keep from seeing how damn much she looks like Elvis, which I'm certain is intentional and how much she mimics his manerisims, which I'm also certain is intentional, but the thing was -- it gave me this really wierd feeling like I was actually watching Elvis reborn in Lisa. I'm not really a huge fan of Elvis, I mean, I kinda like the "young" Elvis because he just really had this interesting stage presence, but the "old fat Elvis" should have never exited.

ANYWAY, just curious what other people thought of this.

I think she's hot, and I like the way she sings.
She does look alot like her old man, though.

And she DID marry that Jackson freak

Yeah, well, that's a big part of the creepy feeling I had too. The fact is she is -way- freekin' hot & sultry, but then I get to thinking about old fat Elvis and it's really weird & creepy.

On this topic, I've ben thinking about that Lisa Marie situation. I've got to ask how weird Nicholas Cage must be.

Lisa Marie married Michael Jackson (proof, by the way, that Elvis is dead) and she was married for about a year before she could no longer tolerate him.

She marries Nicholas Cage and divorces him, what, after a couple of months?

Leads to question how wierd THAT cat is. kinda says something, doesn't it?

I think Nicholas Cage realized she looked like Elvis too!! He doesn't mind playing the King, but he doesn't want to do him!

From what I understand, it was Nick that left Lisa. According to him, the straw that broke the camel's back was when he realized what he had done just after he agreed to sell his vintage comic book collection.

I guess neither one of them liked being controlled too much and neither one would move in with the other either.

Pretty weird, but I've had stranger things happen in my own life so who am I to say.

I've only heard the one song that you mentioned and I really like it.. I'm glad she took her time and really planned what she wanted to do instead of immediately hopping on the bandwagon. She's a beautiful girl...I think she looks like her mama....Definitely Daddy's eyes though.
