AggieDave 6 #1 April 25, 2003 A kick ass 2 way out of a 182. A buddy and I were going up on a hop-n-pop-destress load (our 4th today), and the pilot/DZO decided we needed a little extra altitude. Actually about 10k "little". So about 7k we plan a fun 2 way RW jump, go out, and crank out a fairly decent number of point for being without goggles and jumpsuits. We only got 8 points, could have gotten probably 4 or 5 more (we had gotten into a good rythm), but my altimeter was all blurry, and I thought I was 1k lower then I was and broke off. That was fun, it's been about a year and a half since I've jumped with out goggles or sunglasses. Those imprompto jumps always seem to be a good time. Just thought I'd share. Guess I'm an asshole for getting 4 jumps on a Thursday, though.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline."

AggieDave 6 #3 April 25, 2003 Nope, the only thing effected was that my vision was blurry by the end of the dive. That's it. 2nd time I've jumped without goggles or something, and it was that way both times. After a few seconds under canopy, I could see perfectly normal again, I just needed some moister back on my eyes. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." AggieDave 6 #6 April 25, 2003 It was belly, no protracks, but it felt like the fallrate was around 140-ish. I know in a jumpsuit, my relaxed fall-rate is around 130, although I usually fly right at 120 or 122-ish (slower if need be). I felt that rocketsled feeling once, though. That was when I did 275mph in a head-down. My damn goggles were vibrating infront of my eyes...freaky. Cool, but freaky.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." riddler 0 #7 April 25, 2003 Balloon jump two weekends ago Hmmm. I roll over to belly. My eyes start watering. Oh yea - I forgot to put my goggles on They are still around my neck. After a nice snivel opening, I put them around my helmet and eyes and wear them to the ground. I guess TWO firsts on that one. First balloon jump. First jump with no goggles. Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
