Can someone help me interpret these lyrics?

I was thinking about putting together some little video for holly.. not something i'm gonna put out many places, but anyway I was looking for music - i heard this song by saliva "rest in pieces" and think it's perfect except for one line the one that says "gently smiled before you destroyed my life" -- i'm trying to figure out what in the world saliva was writing this song about, was it a girl that destroyed his life and he wanted to move on from? Or was it a girl who was killed? Sorry if it is painfully obvious, it isn't to me :)

Kev, The qawesoem thing about music is that ifs it done properly it is open to inperpretation.
that song can be about both of those topics and more!
I forget how the emotion of the music is but sonetimes that helps to feel the mood ,too
