Islandcool 0 #26 April 29, 2003 QuoteLooking at a Grand Am. Almost bought an Eclipse... turbo But, I figured I'd like my insurance rates to be slightly lower than my car payment. Ok just an FYI, I work for an Insurance company now as a damage analyst. (Yeah big title for a guy who looks at wrecks) Anyway the Grand Am doesn't hold it's value real well. It's ok and will provide you with some good transportation. The issue come when if by chance it gets totaled and you've financed most of the purchase price. Possible to be upside down on the loan because the actual cash value dropped faster than your loan pay off. I see it happen a lot with certain models. akaGQ 0 #29 April 29, 2003 BMW's hold value but in the time Ive been working on them seems that whether or not they do or dont its not worth it cause in the long run youll pay more for maintenance than the car is worth. - GQ ... it was the love of the air and sky and flying, the lure of adventure, the appreciation of beauty ... -Charles Lindberg
