skymama 37 #26 April 28, 2003 2 (outstanding children):4:0 After the terrible week that skydiving had last week, I was pretty nervous on my first jump. But, all went well on all 4 of my jumps, I landed in the peas a couple of times (on purpose!) and did my first jump with TEB99 where we made 3 docks. Today rocked! My children are outstanding because my 14 year old daughter got her black belt in Tae-kwon-doe yesterday even though she totally hated going, and I left the dz and drove 30 min back home in the middle of the day to see my son play an awesome game of soccer today where he totally shut out any person attempting to get anywhere near his goal. dterrick 0 #27 April 28, 2003 0:4:1 "Opening weekend" at WSC. My gear ... grounded cause I killed another slider so I was loaned a Sabre 210 (about 1:1). The case o beer is for the 'first' time I've ever done a decent in a jumpship - jump #2 we got hosed by clouds at 7,000 and our new pilot continued to climb anyway. The hole never materialized and we dropped down ... the slow way... to 7k. Strange feeling. That same jump (was to be a full altitude hop n pop/canopy drill dive) could also be for the 'first' time I've seen over the tail of a canopy P Rod (Magistr8) did great in some challenging conditions and displayed the true spirit of BEER by hanging out till the bitter end, both sharing his thoughts and listening to us preach through a malt and hops haze ... Next weekend I teach competition race driving on the adjacent road course but I'll try not to zero out on the windy bit (or the other bits). PhreeZone 20 #30 April 28, 2003 1 brother leaving for Basic training on Monday:4:I don't consider miller lite as "beer" Filmed a lot this weekend. 1 freefly, one fun tandem wher eall I did was work on my sit filming and 2 kick arse RW vid's. I was dead centered with no ringsite . Note to self, letting 3-4 inches out on the brakes is'nt a good idea if you can't get the canopy to plane out. I ended up rolling 3 times through the lines, I got a square bruise on the back from the cypres and I'm starting to notice bruises appearing all over my body. I need some painkillers and a nice massage... any females want to give me one? AirMail 0 #31 April 28, 2003 0:4:1 Opening weekend at Frontier. 4 jumps. 1 landing off DZ in the tall bushes (well, saplings, not really trees). No video, so it never happened. I bought beer anyway. Numbers? 1:6:1 (to be paid later) 1 kiss pass on my dad for his first tandem 6 jumps, including said kiss pass 1 case of beer, but I didn't think about it until it was time to go (first kiss pass on my dad, after all...) lurch 0 #40 April 28, 2003 Hmmm. Would this be regarded as an interesting weekend? Friday: 3 jumps, second jump being First totally successful standfly and First reserve ride due to stuck p.c... Third jump of the day was First time on a zero-p canopy the size of a barn (230- I'm 135 lbs)...a student rig I borrowed just because I couldn't stand being grounded with no rig. Saturday was just a lot of water falling and no people. Sunday started out overcast and ended with 4 more jumps, First time I ever did 4 jumps in one day, First attempt at a basic 8-way on my 100th jump, and First pieing caught on video. The bastards succeeded in getting me so far off my guard, after the 8-way went so wacky I'd forgotten about the incoming pie....pretty euphoric right now. I still smell of whipped cream and could happily spend the rest of my life jumping as often as possible. I suck at RW and I flail and cork freeflying. My canopy control is average. So why do I feel like king of the world right about now? Live and learn... or die, and teach by example.

lurch 0 #43 April 28, 2003 Yeah and I have NO idea what I did to earn them either. I'm just some asshole showed up got an A license and jumps a lot. Not part of any clique, too inexperienced to get into the more involved events, too light to keep up with the RW dawgs.... Trying to make this last load of the day happen I had so much help from so many people I don't know where to start...from them holding the plane till I was ready to Tom and Mary taking over my repack and Tom shooting the video on the house. You people RULE! Tom simply told me when it's my turn, just pass it on and do the same for another up-and-climbing jumper. You have my word on it Tom, I will. guaranteed. I brought two cases of corona longnecks. They were well received and vanished promptly. Live and learn... or die, and teach by example.

CanuckInUSA 0 #45 April 28, 2003 Oh I forgot to mention that I suffered my first drunken skydiving party injury this weekend. I slipped on the steps of a friends trailer during Jeff's impromptu wake and not only fell of my ass bruising my left cheek, but I also took a nice rib shot (more bruising) by falling on a stump of wood. So my whole left side of my body is kind of beaten up tonight. A nagging shoulder injury from hockey dating back several months, bruised ribs, a bruised butt cheek and to top it off a sore left heel from and hard landing (which I ran out) three weeks ago. It's a good think I'm a hockey player (meaning I can take the pain and play on). Blue Skies Jeff ... and how could I forget ... we all love you Holly.
