Gawain 0 #1 April 27, 2003 Adding continued variety to the weekly numbers game. In early February, I posted a bit about jump numbers for the month, and whether I was keeping pace with my goal for the year. (Link here) My goal is 240 jumps this year, 20 per month. January, 20 jumps. 100%, 100% YTD goal. February, 15 jumps. 75%, 87.5% YTD goal. March, 15 Jumps. 75%, 83.3% YTD goal. So, for the quarter, I'm at 83.3% of my YTD goal. My forecast for April will fall shorter, further still, bringing me to about 77.5% of my YTD goal. However, I believe that May will be a very fruitful month for jumping as is June, bringing me over 90% of my goal for the year. We shall see! If you're curious about how I'm calculating this (italics are forecasts): Monthly Jan Feb Mar Apr May Jun Quota 20 20 20 20 20 20 Jumps 20 15 15 12 27 20 YTD Jumps 20 35 50 62 89 109 Mo./% 100.0 75.0 75.0 60.0 135.0 100.0 YTD % 100.0 87.5 83.3 77.5 89.0 90.8 So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! Michele 1 #7 April 28, 2003 20 jumps for me....that includes 2 days going to the DZ, and not jumping...and one day going to the dz but getting only 2 jumps in because of winds. I had set a modest goal of 75 jumps by my birthday, and, had those three days been different, it would've worked....but no. Truth is I'm at jump #60, my birthday is next Saturday, and I will not make the goal... However, the good things about goals is you can change them. So I have! I want to do jump #70 at Memorial Day, and then jump 100 at Labor day. And the other good thing about numbers is you can look at them from different perspectives. I started may 6, 2001, (6 month increments would be ~May 6 through Dec. 5~ or ~December 6-May 5) ~In my first 6 months in the sport, I did 25 jumps. ~The 2nd 6 months, I did 2. ~The third 6 months I did 13. ~In the 4th 6th month period (which is incomplete) I've done 20. I may have 23 or 24 by sunset 5/3...) If I am to get to #70 on Memorial day, I will have to jump 10 times in May. And to make it to 100 jumps by Labor Day, I will have to jump 40 times (from present). Which means, by the end of the 5th 6-month period (12/5/03), I will have jumped 40 times, and my yearly total will be something on the order of 60 jumps. Which wouldn't be too bad, all things considered... So. Anyone want to buy me some tickets so I can afford this?Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~

Dumpster 0 #10 April 28, 2003 Jeeze! I can't beleive I've only made 16 jumps since the first- This weather really blows- But I've done 10 in the last month, and to meet one of my goals for the year (D-License) I'll need 20 per month average. It's doable. Easy Does It
Islandcool 0 #11 April 28, 2003 69 jumps since Jan. I did have a goal to do 100 by memorial day weekend but some bad weather on a few weekends held me back. Who knows..I stll might make it. Cheers Ed
CanuckInUSA 0 #12 April 28, 2003 83 jumps since Jan 1st but lately I haven't seemed to be able to get a good weekend in full of jumps. I had big plans for this weekend (I hoped for 12 or more), but the shit hit the fan and I have to be satisified with the four that I got. Tonto 1 #25 April 29, 2003 Ist goal. 200 dives a year average... and I've achieved that, weekends only, for 18 years. Present goal. More dives than days per year. (365) Managed last year - with 384 and with a month off to climb Kilimanjaro This year, 122 dives to date, for 118 days, so on track, but will do more dives in the winter when things cool down a bit. Next goal - over 100 dives a year for each year of my life. Currently 41 years old with 3825 dives, so around this time next year I should get it... Ahh, how we spend out time! tIt's the year of the Pig.
