Guest #1 May 2, 2003 Hey, Just wondering if anybody in NoCal knows whether places like Skydance, Bay Area Skydiving, Skydive Monterey bay, etc. are open on Thursdays and Fridays. I'll be arriving in Sacto early Thursday morning, 22 May. I will be in the area til late Saturday afternoon, and would like to get some jumps in."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." Deuce 1 #2 May 2, 2003 Skydance and BAS are open. usually Cessna during the week, 206 at Byron, 182 at Davis. Usually, if the weather is good, they get the KingAir going at Byron on Friday afternoons. Sorry I'm going to miss you, but I'm gonna be in PERRIS! Sebazz1 2 #3 May 2, 2003 They will all be open but ---> your best bet my friend is to give them each a call... See who has the most going on in terms of students and stuff. The upjumper crowd can be sparse on weekdays so by calling each place to see who's got the most going on you'll be assured of airtime. And also you'll find out who's flying turbines who's flyin cessna's those days... Oh and do not forget Hollister... My honest opinion if you're in Sacto. Davis or Lodi. Specially Lodi they always got somethin goin on there.

I'm attending the Kathy Dause Boogie Friday and Saturday, 23/24 May, then I'm hopping to Ontario Saturday evening. Won't get there soon enough to jump, but I'll be there Sunday and Monday, 25/26 May, before flying back to Seattle Monday evening."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." Guest #6 May 2, 2003 Quote Stole my thoughts. Lodi. Hit Lodi. I'm actually basing my visit out of Lodi - please see earlier remarks - but I'm thinking about trying to jump at as many NoCal DZs as I can on Thursday and Friday, 21/22 May. Anybody up for a DZ crawl? "The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."

Ray Farrell invited me to the BBQ two years ago IIRC, when I visited to chat with him and make a jump (on a Wednesday, I think...!), but I couldn't stay for some reason - I had to drive back to Lodi."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." RevJim 0 #16 May 2, 2003 Well, that sounds good, until you figure that I'm in Wisconsin, and might be able to make a Chicago area DZ, if I'm lucky. On that note, I leave tonight for Indiana again, and should be at SDC before noon Saturday. It's your life, live it! Guest #20 May 2, 2003 Have you looked for fares? It might not be too late. SWA wants about $450 for a rountrip from Midway to Ontario... "The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."
RevJim 0 #21 May 2, 2003 Quote Have you looked for fares? It might not be too late. SWA wants about $450 for a rountrip from Midway to Ontario... I looked. I've been thinking about that boogie for a couple of years now. This year all my $$$ is going for jumps and equipment. As little as possible to travel expenses. The boogies need to be within a decent drive. Rantoul is about 6 hours away, and very worth it. Those tickets to ride a plane I can't jump out of means the loss of a shit load of jump tickets. This is the year I'm gonna be jumping my ass off. Probably next year too. After that, I'll look into travel a bit more. It's your life, live it! Guest #22 May 2, 2003 You could also try eBay. There are people on eBay selling round-trip tickets for Southwest...they're promo tickets, so they're restricted somewhat (23 May is a blackout day, for example)."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." RevJim 0 #23 May 2, 2003 I'd love to, but like I said Mark, this year every last extra cent is for jumps and/or equipment. I need MORE! Couple a years and I'll be settled down to where I want to be at, and will start traveling again. The loss of Blue Sky Adventures and the Harvest Moon Boogie signaled the end of my traveling days for a year or 2.It's your life, live it! Okay, you got me, I'm a wannabe white trash LOL... Uhmmm, I did that last year... Well, I fell asleep on the pool chairs to be woken at 6am by the balloon guys starting to fill up the balloons where I promptly crawled in the backseat of my truck to get another 2 hours of sleep... For some reason, I don't think I'd have too good of a time if my kids had to sleep in the truck with me...I promise not to TP Davis under canopy..
