When we'd drive up there we could see the "old man of the mountain", a large rocky outcropping which resembled an old man's face in profile. skygal3 0 #4 May 5, 2003 I swear officer, I had NOTHING to do with this..One woman I was talking to about this on Saturday morning likened the feeling she had to how the people of Iraq must feel knowing the majority of their historical artifacts had been destroyed. With the weather conditions the way that they are in the Notch, it amazes me he lasted as long as he did. That, and all of the hikers that had to be continually rescued from underneath his nose...seriously. The location will still be an attraction, but now it will be more of a "look sweetie, at where the old man used to be."
