Need a ride to Perris?

Recommended Posts

Well there is a 99% chance that Derek can't make it to Perris due to him getting a new job, and at the moment I'm still planning on going and driving. My planned route is I-70 from Denver to Las Vegas then I-15 to CA.

I'm planning on leaving Denver the 20th and Leaving Perris the 26th, so if anyone is along the route and needs a ride just holler. I can definately fit 1 extra person and possibly 2 if you don't mind being a little cramped in the backseat.

I'm still holding onto a slim hope that I can make it to Perris for the boogie (it's too early to tell with work). But I doubt very much I'd be able to leave on the 20th. If I do go it'll be on the 22nd or 23rd and I will either be driving my car or maybe be a passenger in someone else's?

Yeah, I'm starting to lean towards not going unless I can find a plane ticket for under $200. They were at $177, but Derek wouldn't tell me for sure if he was going or not, so now they are back up over $250. [:/]

Oh well, we were only told at work we can't take vacation June-Aug, so maybe something will be going on in Sept, cause the way it looks I won't be able to even get 50 jumps this year. You know I really hate jumping in Colorado especially since I work Saturdays.

With the exception of one weekend in NM and the Eloy x-mas boogie, all I know is jumping in CO. Of course sometimes we have wind and turbulance issues to deal with (which lately have been grounding us), and there is the issue of hot landings due to the higher density altitude. But other than that, I do think CO is a great place to jump. Of course I'm not usually stuck in the salt mines on Saturdays. Any news on Derek's possible CA job? Bob was telling me that he also got a new job at Jeffco (so at least you have your Pokie on Monday through Saturdays).

It really is the Saturday thing that is hard, work 10 hrs (soon to be 12) on Saturdays then get up at 5 am to get to the DZ on sunday morning. Reason I didn't go down yesterday (besides the high winds) is someone called me at 12:30 and I was on the phone till 2am, getting up at 5 was not an option.:S
