Chicago high school hazing

Recommended Posts

Am I naive? Does such extreme hazing occur frequently? The worst our seniors ever did to the juniors was put live frogs in their lockers. I listened to one of the girls who did the hazing this morning on the radio. It really turned my stomach hearing some 17 or 18-yr old girl say that she participated basically because it was done to her a year ago.

Here's the story:http://www.nbc5.com/news/2186362/detail.html

Maybe I'm naive, but I really hope that this isn't a frequent event at other schools.
There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

Mostly all of our hazing was during football practice or in the locker room. I got would get drug through the mud puddles under the water fountain everyday and people would get stuck in lockers, get swirlies, and the like quite regularly, but never eating shit....

Here's to the Breezes that blows through the Trezzez.....

Hazing will happen but that was way out of line. It is very similar to the "Blood Wings" video that the Marines had a few years ago. When I completed jump school in Ft. Benning I asked for my "Blood Wings" from the Black Hats. Now, the important thing is, what will happen to the GIRLS?

[:/]... pretty sad .. I would say... and this from a
so called "affluent " community.....From the video.. it looked like gang violence,, without the stabbings, and gunplay.......I was rather disgusted when I saw an interview clip,,, with the H.S. Principal.... who basically shrugged his shoulders,, and excused,,,
"Well it wasn't done ON school property" ( the guy probably takes in 300 Grand a year ,,, reducing the possibility of hiring more TEACHERS,,)....How Lame....>:(.. What really bugged me,,, though
was that with all the "spectators" who were there,,, very few seemed to recognize that many lines had been crossed, and it looked like No one stepped forward to intervene,, or break it up,, or to protect those gilrs who were on the ground, and taking all sorts of abuse........I Guarantee,,, if I was there,, and knew ANYone who was a victim ,, I would have been in the middle of it,,, pointing out the Idiocy of their actions, to the perpetrators, and protecting some of the victims...regardless of consequences..... But I am from the "old school" ,,:S where people respect one another,, and where people are not so easily influenced by the crap that they see on Television and in the movies and on video game screens,,:(,....Oh well the world is basically crazy,,,, and that is one of the reasons why I seek the refuge of the drop zone. and of blue skies....:|.

I love talking to my kids when they are trapped in the car with me and can't get distracted with the tv, computer or phone. This video was the subject of our discussion this morning. I found it so disturbing that kids would disrespect each other like that. I mean, spreading fish guts on someone? That's terrible! And the way that one of the girls was just punching away at one of the other ones, I just kept thinking...where has this girl's parents been all her life to bring her up like this?

"Bad" High School Hazing - Initiation into the Latin club. We were blindfolded and then unwittingly fished out a cow's eyeball from a bowl of them in front of the "patricians." The blindfold was removed and we were obliged to stare into the "eye of Destiny" while our Latin teacher forecast aloud our supposed and humerous futures to the heckling of the audience.

"Good" High School Hazing - Varsity football. The night before our Homecoming game the cheerleaders visited each of the starter's homes while we were at practice. With our parents' permission, the cheerleaders decorated our bedrooms with signed pillow cases, streamers and candies. They also tp-ed our front lawns with blue and gold tp.

Ironic the Latin Club hazing was tough and the football hazing was benign (except for having to clean up the tp when you're sore).
