Islandcool 0 #1 May 10, 2003 There the much older lady working at the Circle K on the weekends. Probably close to 70. I see her every weekend when I get my coffee before I go to the DZ. One day she says what ya doing today. I respond I'm going skydiving. She then tells me her late husband was a skydiver and jumped at brown field. At 68 he shattered his hip after a rough reserve ride. He jumped a few more times after that and gave it up. She tells me stories about the "old" days traveling around to DZs a what a great time it was. Now every weekend she puts a hand on my shoulder and says you go and have fun but make sure you be safe. Starting the weekend with nice people is cool. Just thought I'd share that.Ed
Unutsch 0 #2 May 10, 2003 it must be great to get your pre-skydiving coffee from someone who knows and fully understand your addiction, ei? Check out the site of the Fallen Angels FreeflY Organisation: http://www.padliangeli.org
freeflir29 0 #3 May 10, 2003 Pretty cool story!!! My Mom made my Dad quit skydiving. Something about the guys flipping the airplane and low pull contests. What can I say...his last jump was in 1965.
