JJohnson 0 #1 May 10, 2003 Why is it if I spend the time, money, and effort to paint my garage floor with all the proper stuff, that it makes about as durable as coating as a layer of kleenex? I mean drop a quarter and it knocks ten dollars worth of paint off. Yet, spill some cheap ass latex, semi-gloss wall paint and I can't get that shit off the floor with a pound of C4, a bottle of acid and bulldozer?? WTF.JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
wingnut 0 #2 May 10, 2003 i think you have found the answer to your question... just paint it in the latex semi gloss..... much cheaper than the epoxy coating and you don't even have to mix two parts together..... ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"

JJohnson 0 #9 May 10, 2003 I'm selling the house, so I'm trying to do all the little things to make it more appealing to a potential buyer. Once I get caught up, I'll relate some of the shit I've found wrong with this place.....I've been renting it out for the last two years and the renters were lazy lowlifes.JJ "Call me Darth Balls"
feelopen 0 #10 May 10, 2003 did you acid etch the concrete? nothing will stick to it well unless you do, even then it's hard if you don't uase true epoxy and let it cure for weeks. we've had luck at the animal hospital (some lg. animal rooms have painted concrete floors with sandy texture) just acid etched it and let it cure forever, it stands up to crazy horses with metal shoes alright.. don't imagine you're interested in redoing it, but if so I can tell you all the chemicals etc... cp

skymama 37 #12 May 10, 2003 You paint the garage floor to cover up all the grease or tire marks left over from the cars being in there. People looking at the house won't really notice it when it's freshly painted, but they will surely notice it if it looks nasty, and it will reflect negatively on how they feel about the rest of the house. Fresh paint and cleaning the carpets are two of the best things to do when you're trying to sell a house. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon

Selling the rent house nearly caused the divorce I ended up getting a few years later. But we did sell it to the renters -- that solved the problem of most of the stuff that needed to be fixed.
