JohnnyD 0 #1 May 12, 2003 I am going to buy my BEER lawnmower. I'm thinking about buying an electric. Anyone have or have used one of these? Any comments or suggestions appreciated. Yes - my yard is small. A little too big for a weed eater.

lurch 0 #3 May 12, 2003 Uh, between 15 and 10 years ago I sometimes did lawn work. the electrics at the time were small and badly underpowered. The only thing they could cut reliably was their own extension cord you had to drag around everywhere and try to keep out of your way. Aren't there battery powered electrics by now?Live and learn... or die, and teach by example.
payback462 0 #4 May 12, 2003 Quote I'm thinking about buying an electric. BWAHAHAHAHAHA!!! dont even waste your time with one of those peices of shit, we have 2 electric tractors sitting in the garage that dont work for crapolago for john deere and not that cheap shit they sell at home depot, the real deal. theyre expensive but SOOO worth it in the long run
PhreeZone 20 #5 May 12, 2003 Go buy the one you can race! You really DO need that 96" cutting deck to mow .25 acres. Make sure you get a zero turning radius one too. Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
jlmiracle 7 #6 May 12, 2003 How big is your yard? We have a Honda Lawntractor (but we have 1.8 acres) and a selfpropelled something but the Honda is the best. JeffGordon 0 #7 May 12, 2003 uhhhh. You may want to think about this. Remember a lawnmower is going to cost a minimum of 10 skydives. And the last thing you need is something to do on Saturday. Just think how much better your yard will look with that "all natural" appeal.
Dumpster 0 #8 May 12, 2003 Buy a cheapo $150.00 Briggs and Stratton or Tecumseh-powered push mower. Better if you can get one used at a repair shop. Or even and old-style reel-type mower. It takes about an hour and a half to do my lawn, (and it's pretty good sized-) and I try to do it during the week so it doesn't mess with the jump schedule. Or better yet, get some kid to do it with his dad's mower for ten bucks, and pack for yourself a few times. Just remember to tip him once in a while. rjackson 0 #9 May 12, 2003 If you dont have alot of money get a inexspensive one with a "briggs" engine. If you have a few extra bucks get a Honda. I love mine, starts on the first pull almost every time.--------------------------------------------- Randy
