skymama 37 #3 May 12, 2003 Sangiro doesn't advertise with pop-ups, they have to be coming from another program you're running. What else have you installed lately? She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
riddler 0 #4 May 12, 2003 Check the title bar of the pop-ups. If they all say "Save Now", then let us know. There's a way to remove that spam-ware from your system, but it's hard. You will get them on other web sites as well.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
jessd 0 #5 May 12, 2003 I get a lot of Save Now pop-ups. Will adware get rid of this? "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

SkydiveMonkey 0 #10 May 12, 2003 with kazaa lite, you get the box at the start asking to download the latest version. don't - cos it "upgrades" it to normal kazaa ____________________ Say no to subliminal messages
riddler 0 #11 May 12, 2003 Adaware did not remove SaveNow for me. It is one sneaky piece of shit spamware program. They claim you can remove it from the programs (WhenU or SaveNow), but this is a lie. Go here, read the *entire* page, and follow the instructions for manual removal. You have to follow them carefully.Trapped on the surface of a sphere. XKCD
jessd 0 #12 May 12, 2003 Thank you. I'll try this when I get home. These pop-ups are more than annoying. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."

DTOXX 0 #14 May 12, 2003 A GREAT site that can scan (through your browser) for bull#%^ like this is http://www.doxdesk.com/parasite/. Forgot to mention, the site will also give details on how to remove anything it finds. I have used this in the past with much success. ------- D.T. ryoder 1,590 #15 May 13, 2003 Use Mozilla. I started using it months ago, and I've never had to look at a pop-up since then. freeflir29 0 #16 May 13, 2003 Another vote for Mozilla....it's easy to install, VERY user friendly, and seems to work pretty damn flawlessly. I went to it after my recent debacle with IE 6.0. Never going back to that crap!!!!
