Samurai136 0 #26 May 12, 2003 Quote Weekend was a complete wash out. All the DZ's I called shut down mid Saturday and if anyone jumped today thay have balls the size of Watermelons. Friday evening: 2 back to back jumps. I got in 1 full altitude jump saturday morning before clouds rolled in. Then we all stood around waiting... Got out the hacky sack. Thunderstorms rolled in we fired up the grill. There were tornado warnings for towns 30 miles south of us and hail in a town 15 miles west. Ate a Good steak. Then a big 15mile sized hole opened up after the storm. The cloud base at 2500' was cooking but there were no ground winds. Did back to back hop n' pops. 5 minutes after my last swoop of the day, it started raining hard, again. Packed up, talked and had a few beers. No jumping today though. I don't go for 30-45mph gusting wind conditions and low ceilings. A boy has to have his limits. Ken"Buttons aren't toys." - Trillian Ken
indyz 1 #27 May 12, 2003 0 : 3: 0? Planned on going to Hinckley on Saturday. Woke up at 6:00, weather looked crappy everywhere. Woke back up around noon, Hinckley was a wash, but Sky Knights looked good, so I headed across the border. 3 great jumps (solo belly to clean the cobwebs out, 2 sit attempts). Met Dumpster. Pretty sure I saw ladyskydiver earlier in the day, but she had left by the time I realized who she was

beemertec 0 #29 May 12, 2003 0:4:1 Had my 1st crew jump yesterday. 2 crew jumps yesterday. Got 3 docks on each jump, and 2 very tired arms when I was done. Not much today. 1 jump and the winds really started kicking up. Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it! Vallerina 2 #30 May 12, 2003 I had to pay big time for getting there 10 mins late:4:0 I made a few fun jumps with Andyman, and I finally got to jump with EricaH (she's still on lurker status...) I had some fun with the demo canopy, so that makes it difficult to send it back. I had a really hot date for a sunset boat tour on the Chicago River and Lake Michigan. He kept me warm Jess and Kris, you guys suck! Answer your phones! It's frustrating calling out for help on voice mail! Deuce 1 #31 May 12, 2003 Every:9:0 I love my new Hi-res still camera. I get to jump with the high performance freeflyers, learn from them, and take amazing pictures. 6 Tandem videos, almost all beautiful women (one guy, a firefighter the skychickies would have dug) then three fun jumps. A six way hybrid turning points (2), then the same jump again turning(3), then video and stills of a wicked two way head down. How can I do this full time, and keep my obligations? Can't. But I love my weekend job!

freeflir29 0 #33 May 12, 2003 1 (Drunken phone call from a pretty cool skychick):0:0 Ohio SUCKS!!!! I was working Saturday....Off Sunday but the wind has been howling 35-50MPH all day with on and off rain. I can't believe skydivers live in this state of their own free will. Finally met "Unlucky1" Saturday night. He came out with me and some guys from work to a local watering hole. Believe it or not I was too tired from working all day to chase the hotties around the bar. Oh well...I'll try and get more sleep next week. Keeping fingers crossed for nice weather tomorrow (Yeah right....I'm in Ohio) Maybe I'll get out to Aerohio for a Monday jump or two.
bbarnhouse 0 #34 May 12, 2003 1:18:0 First time I've seen my camera flyer fall off the plane! Had to chase him head down to catch up and then laughed my a$$ off. Yeah I couldn't let that one go....asked if the guys after us caught it on video....bwahhhhh yeah...yeah....
wingnut 0 #35 May 12, 2003 : 4 : 1 4 jumps at skydive u and one memorable one... one of the tandem masters brought his mom out to do a tandem.. well i was gona lurkit and dock on her if possible well i am on the wing of the twin bonanza and the camera flyeris on the rear float position and we are waiting for the tandem to climb out... well we can here her screaming in the plane and then see arms go flying for the door... her son almost muscled her out but she could be pushed... she had a good grip on both sides of the door.... so we were getting way off spot and had to go so the camera flyer looks at me and we exit.... mess around a little in a sit and open at 6k to make it back to the airport...... the video from both our cameras is so funny......... i even got video of myself finally for the first time in a long while......and the camera guy got a free jump outa it..... ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
PhreeZone 20 #36 May 12, 2003 Dude... welcome to the land of Grass runways. I would'nt count on jumping till Wednesday if Aerohio looks like SGC. Thing is that it will all dry off in 2 or 3 days and it will be like nothing happened. Jib 0 #37 May 12, 2003 1:1:0 I got rearended by an illegal alien with no ID in an unregistered car with a stolen license plate who walked away before the police showed up. I'm fine, damage was minor and most importantly, I got a jump in! -------------------------------------------------- the depth of his depravity sickens me. -- Jerry Falwell, People v. dterrick 0 #38 May 12, 2003 0 :2 Long story short... Car busted into (another month of jump tix in jeopardy for a deductible). Still made it to DZ. First jump went great - the next jump went as bad as the first was good. Had a back-breaking slammer of an opening (would make a Sabre owner cry) and the winds got really stupid. The case owed is for saving myself from femur... or... my first "I better get this PLF right" crosswind/backwards ouch. Below 3k the air was as bumpy as I've experienced but on final there were also induced turbulence(s) for the hangars blocking the 15 gusting 20-ish winds. Final saw me downwind "too low" and the base/final was your basic toggle carving /U-turn... until some bodily orfices slammed shut when I realized under the conditions I was losing altitude faster than I could afford to. Flattening /stopping the turn at about 90 to the wind (told ya I was low) kept me from posting in the Incidents forum but it left me crabbing sideways well faster than I can run. As I reach for "that first step" (I know, wrong answer) I lose my balance, do the instinct thing and wind up with more downwind toggle - and now I'm REALLY gonna have to PLF. I was wrapped in my lines when I came to rest and then the canopy started to re-inflate. Green grass, white jumpsuit, you know the rest. I feel like I jumped out of the back of a moving pickup truck... but somehow I doubt I'd do that twice either. Dave PS congrats on your first pull Pete! did you get to help Evan with his Strawberry Shortcake Century? ladyskydiver 0 #40 May 12, 2003 0: 0: 0 Hey, Indyz! Next time you're at SK just ask them to page me. I'll come and say Hi. Got in zero jumps over the weekend. Could have jumped on Saturday, but I'd hung out with a friend Friday night (thinking the weatherman was correct and the weather was going to be crappy on Saturday) and was up so late that I didn't get much sleep. Knew that it wouldn't be safe for me to jump with such lack of sleep so I hung around the DZ for awhile and gave some people grief instead. Life is short! Break the rules! Forgive quickly! PhreeZone 20 #41 May 12, 2003 Trust me... If I get my way I'm getting wet on Wendsday I just got to pull the Cypres first. PhreeZone 20 #43 May 12, 2003 >dude... when is it not there!!!! atleast they got most of 270 fixed on the north side Even better... they just sent a proposal to redo ALL of 270 in another 5 years. In addition they want to make 70/71 downtown a double decker interstate so that plan was presented too. Looks like we need to order more orange barrels. I've once thought of building a house out of orange barrels since they are so plentiful around here. masher 1 #45 May 12, 2003 0:3:0 Tried out a rig I'm thinking about buying (97 Racer, Sabre 150 100jumps) H'n'P from 5k and had a bit of a play. 'twas a very nice canopy. Landed in quite nicely about 10m from target centre. Did a 7 point 2 way, and I didn't need weights! But I do need to work on staying close to the formation, I move a little bit too much horizontally. Solo from height. Spun myself right up with some leg turns. Snowbird 0 #46 May 12, 2003 4:2:0 Made it to work with 4 minutes to spare this morning, after squeezing in an early jump.1 on Saturday. Sit exit that I finally managed to hold! Opened high, so I could play with the Sabre 170 I had for the weekend. Whheeeee! What fun. Another jump Sunday morning, a Coach2 jump for my 'B' license. It went wonderfully. I love that Sabre. I don't want to give it back but I hate packing it! Women and cats will do as they please, and men and dogs should relax and get used to the idea. -Robert A. CanuckInUSA 0 #48 May 12, 2003 1:7:0 No jumps on Saturday due to some ugly weather and seven jumps on Sunday (yes I called mom before I jumped) on Sunday. One absolutely nasty opening (numerous experienced base jumpers said it sounded like a base opening ... only terminal). But I'm alive and well ... I think ... I hope ...
