MC208B 0 #1 May 13, 2003 Hi all, Multnomah county Oregon (Portland) is looking for someone fluent in Klingon to translate for the occasional mental patient that only speaks Klingon! This is no shit Multnomah county is also going to have a vote next Tuesday to impose a COUNTY income tax of 1.25% for county residents to partially fund the schools that are "the laughing stock of the nation" Geez.....and I thought that most of the fruits, nuts and flakes were in the Golden State (of course, that doesn't include jumpers in CA!) AggieDave 6 #4 May 13, 2003 I can understand where you're coming from. I used to be a trekkie and had friends who actually took the time to learn some Klingon...odd folks, but atleast they're dedicated to what they love.--"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." Guest #8 May 13, 2003 heheheI had a Trek buddy who was good friends with linguist Marc Orkrand, the chap who invented the Klingon language for the franchise. Orkrand is still around and inventing other non-existent languages for SF&F, but my friend isn't... "The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."
