wmw999 2,584 #4 May 16, 2003 I was too. I went to a play with some friends, and then out to dessert. Lovely evening, topped off by riding home on my motorcycle during just about the whole of near-totality and totality (I took the scenic route). It was so cool -- I looked for unlit streets and actually found some so I could look up, and hope no cats or dogs were running in front of me. I was bummed at first when a train stopped me, but actually, there wasn't a streetlight at that corner, and the headlights of the oncoming traffic were hidden by the train -- talk about serendipity. I got home just as the light was really hitting the moon again, and broke out the binoculars. Got to look at the side of the moon, and some of the features in relief. Somehow it's so much more real-seeming to me when I can really see its roundness by the light and shadow on it.
