Guest #1 May 15, 2003 Bummer. Stack was a very cool customer. He was also insanely funny in "Airplane", doing comedy after decades as a straight man. I'll miss him."The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."

Guest #4 May 15, 2003 Quote Aaaawwwwwwww, oh man, I'll miss him too. From Airplane!!: "...do you like Gladiator movies?" "Roger...Roger" That was Peter Graves and Kareem-Abdul Jabbar. Stack was funniest in that pic when he dramatically whipped his sunglasses off, and had the smaller round pair underneath. I laughed so hard I almost peed in my pants! What made it so hysterical was Stack's career, like Nielsen's and Bridges' and the others in the picture, was purely drama. To see these straight heavies turned upside-down (and literally, in Bridges' case - hehehe) was a master comedy stroke. edit - Nielsen wasn't in the cockpit scenes - my bad!"The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat." Been 20 years since I saw that picture. I remember a lot of the dialogue, but not all the scenes where they took place. Thanks for the correction!"The mouse does not know life until it is in the mouth of the cat."

mnischalke 0 #9 May 16, 2003 Stack was a skeet champion at age 17 and taught many of Hollywood's most famous, including Clark Gable, how to shoot. That served as his introduction to acting. Stack was an NRA Life member as well as a poster boy for that organization's "I'm the NRA" program for many years. He was also quite involved with a Paralyzed Veterans Trap Shoot as well as the Celebrity Shoot in California. He will be missed... mike Girls only want boyfriends who have great skills--You know, like nunchuk skills, bow-hunting skills, computer-hacking skills. Cava 0 #12 May 16, 2003 I haven't seen Airplane in years either, but didn't Stack have the line (one of the best in the film) "This is a Goddamn waste of time!" with the microphone still on. ?
