ChasingBlueSky 0 #1 May 20, 2003 I purchased a new car at the end of Jan. A couple days ago JD Power sent me a postcard informing me they were sending me a survey to fill out to help them understand what I found helpful during the purchase process. They mentioned they would include a token to show their appreciation. Today this huge envelope with one of the largest surveys I have ever seen shows up. As I am taking all of this out of the envelope, their "token" falls out and floats to the floor. A crisp, brand new one-dollar bill. Does anyone else find this odd?_________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... I WILL fly again..... jessd 0 #2 May 20, 2003 I recieved a dollar along with a Neilsen (sp??) Survey before. The survey would have taken forever to fill out. "Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away..."
jfields 0 #3 May 20, 2003 1. Put $1 bill in wallet. 2. Put survey in recycle bin. Seriously, if people are interested in the survey, they'll do it because they want to do so. If you actually dilligently filled out the stupid thing, it would be a waste to do so for $1. It is like my mom driving all the way across town to save $.03/gallon on gas, for her 15 gallon tank. Amount saved: 45 cents. Time wasted: 20 minutes. Calculated value of her time: $1.35/hour. That isn't even minimum wage. Unless she does it for enjoyment, it isn't worth it. Slowfaller 0 #4 May 20, 2003 Got someting similar but instead of a $1 bill it was a $5 bill --"Someday you will die and somehow somethings going to steal your carbon" -MM
Rebecca 0 #5 May 20, 2003 I've never filled a JD Power survey before, but is it possible they might send you something else, like more money, once they receive your completed survey?? If not, why would people waste their time? you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel loquacious?' -- well do you, punk?
baa75 0 #6 May 20, 2003 Nope, the $1 is the "token" unless they actually say in there that you will get more by returning it. I actually work for a market research company and we do things like that occasionally. I've never done one with just $1 but that's up to them. (the client) I bought a new car in Jan as well & got a survey soon after. My salesman told me it would be coming and that my answers directly reflect his review. I got a great deal on the car and he's a great guy so I made sure to send it back. Oh, he's on his level 6 now. Ha ha! Why would people waste their time? Because people get bored and do silly things with their time like posting in chatrooms. ;)
