Dinner at Perris, Best Places?

Quickly, please...

Need opinions on the best dining around Perris. My brother and his fiance will be meeting me there Saturday evening, so I'm looking for tips. Note: this will be LATE, like 8pm or so.

I'm not particular at this point, but I am uncertain as to my brother's tastes. He's from San Diego, so he should be up for the unusual - e.g., Thai and so forth.

From Perris' website, it appears that the Bomb Shelter closes at sundown. Is it smoke-free (California law???)?

Good sushi in Temecula; find me for directions. Good italian and mexican in Perris.

Saturday evening is the pool party/bbq. Just have them meet you at the dz; no need to leave.

Okay, so there is this fabulous steakhouse restaurant in Perris. I went there and can't remember the name but it is about 5 miles away from the drop zone and I am sure someone will know the name of it down in Perris. I'm not sure what your budget is, but the food was very good and they have a good wine menu too. Steaks, Seafood, Salads, Bread the whole 9 yards, nice atmosphere. It is a little pricey but average for a good restaurant. Dinners probably range from $15-$30. Very yummy.

Ohhh I forgot about that one. That's the Oaks. Just north of WalMart. Good steaks.

There's a nice little Italian food place on D street.
The place used to be an old jail..inside there is 2 cells that was actual jail cells..a few skydiving pics on walls in the back..and the food is freshly made.
I forget the name..Little roma or something..everyone knows where it's at..
It was a good place last time I was there..

Can I buy them passes to the BBQ? They're whuffos (but only for the moment, if I have my way ), and won't be attending the boogie, except maybe to do a tandem.

BTW I spoke to somebody at Perris yesterday who said that anybody who wants to lurk a tandem there must be AFF or TM rated. Any idea what the reason is for that? I don't see the added risk to lurking a tandem that would justify such restrictions, save staying out of the "cone" above the tandem pair and being in the TM's field of view at all times. Thoughts?

There's no way I'd have let someone I didn't know follow me out on a tandem. It's not just another skydive and it shouldn't be treated as one.

My brother just emailed me to say that he and his fiance will be arriving at Perris on Sunday morning. Given that I won't be getting to Perris until around 8pm Saturday myself, and the drive from San Diego is pretty short, he's elected to drive up the next day. Figure we'll have breakfast in the Bomb Shelter.

Oh that's doable! I jumped right before my son did his level 1; pretty cool to see his face as I exited.

Just have the school people let you know what load they're on, then run down to manifest and get yourself on the same load.

Docking on the tandem would be schweet , but the next best thing would be to exit right before they do...

Yeah, that's Villa Roma - definitely one of the best restaurants in Perris.

But, like Lisa said, it's probably better to have 'em meet ya at the bbq on the dropzone - will definitely be the best atmosphere in town :-)

Do they have a lock-down on local camera fliers only? I had volunteered to do video for Lummy's sweetheart, and I was wondering if they'd let a strange stranger out with a tandem master.

Clay would vouch for me, and I've done them out of the Van.
