wmw999 2,565 #1 May 18, 2003 I'm done jumping for the weekend... 0:3:1 3 great sequential jumps at a very lazy Spaceland. Skydive Houston was having a boogie, but I was taking my neighbor's son, and we were getting a late start. Turned out fine. 2 5 ways, 7 points on the first, and I think 20 on the second (lots of whoopin & hollerin). Then a 6 way with 6+ points -- but since the exit was blown, we were happy. 1 very satisfied 12-year-old at the DZ. It was quiet enough that people would talk to him and appreciate him -- he even wanted to stay longer. Also 1 Red Stripe beer kept out of the case (1/2 Red Stripe & 1/2 Shiner Bock) I brought for the POPS jump 2 weeks ago. All in all, a pretty good weekend to get ready for ***Perris*** Wendy W.There is nothing more dangerous than breaking a basic safety rule and getting away with it. It removes fear of the consequences and builds false confidence. (tbrown)
mouth 0 #2 May 18, 2003 I'm done too Wendy. 0:8:1 Lots of hugs and fun had this weekend already. We had a great group of people at the DZ because of the GSL meet so we kept the King Air and a Caravan moving for 14 and 12 loads respectfully. 8 fun jumps. A few with some low timers, lurked a tandem or two, several 3 ways, and a fun 2 way with Phreezone spinning around while he was flying on his back. Some of the most breathtaking sights in the plane going up. The sun and clouds playing hide and seek at altitude were amazing. It was pretty neat to be in the king air and pass the Caravan and wave at them on the way up too. Their pilot said something about showing off? Not sure what he meant except that he left a good 5 minutes before we did and we passed him around 4000 ft. Skydive Atlanta's King Air ROCKS. The beer was for first jump on my new rig -- NICE , also first jump on my new jumpsuit. The jumpsuit fit ok but looks terrible and wasn't what I wanted but oh well. I really really liked the Sabre 2 and had a good time playing with her. All in all a good day at the DZ, and like Wendy said a good warm up for Perris in 3 days. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit. Cajun 0 #3 May 18, 2003 I'm done too ::Too cloudy/wet to jump. I'm thinking of moving to SoCal I hear the weather is pretty nice there. Edit: need to drink coffee before I start posting.
jceman 1 #4 May 18, 2003 0:0:0 Decided to drive the bus instead of jump yesterday. It's all good. Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money. Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?
skymama 37 #5 May 18, 2003 0:3:0 No jumps this weekend, but I did play hookey from work on Wednesday to jump with dz.commer, Phil, who was doing the Airspeed camp at the tunnel. He didn't get to work on his new skills though, we went freeflying instead! And Phil being the sweetheart that he is, paid for my jumps and took me out to dinner! She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
Jessica 0 #6 May 18, 2003 1 huge bash thrown at my apartment:0:0 My good friend and co-worker is moving away, so we decided to have a few friends over to my crib for a little goodbye get-together. Holy crap. I have no idea how many people were actually here, but it was a lot. I think the last person passed out at 5 a.m. I could tell they weren't skydivers because they put the empty beer bottles in the trash. No jumps, but a highly satisfactory weekend. Yay! EDIT: Almost forgot, got drunk dialed by Wingi. I'm glad I have caller ID or I would have thought it was Beavis.Skydiving is for cool people only
Michele 1 #7 May 18, 2003 0:2:2 First time in a bootie suit...it was flying me, and I was not flying it...and the first group tracking jump... Ciels- Michele ~Do Angels keep the dreams we seek While our hearts lie bleeding?~
Kris 0 #8 May 18, 2003 0:0:0 Ugh. Not a good weekend. Spent Friday with a killer migraine. Saturday was better, met DZ.com Casie for lunch and a great margarita while I was in Texas getting my gear out of my beautiful, totalled, angel of a vehicle. RIP my gorgeous Tibby. mickb 0 #10 May 18, 2003 6:1:1 six weeks since i tore my ac ligament in a f*cked up landing. one more trip to the physio before i can jump again. one long walk through sherwood forest today instead of jumping. spring time in the forest the damp grass underfoot the sun streaming through the branches overhead. almost as good as jumping Fear is that little darkroom where negatives are developed. beemertec 0 #11 May 18, 2003 0:3:0 Did 1 2 way with mouth, and 2 3 ways. Had a lot of fun on the last jump. I jumped without my suit against Lisa's advise. Wish I would have had that one on video, because I know I looked funny trying to do my turns and tracking. I think I actually heard Lisa laughing at me in freefall. Quote The jumpsuit fit ok but looks terrible and wasn't what I wanted but oh well. I thought the jumpsuit was sexy. Blue Skies Steve Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
skygal3 0 #12 May 18, 2003 *&%$#@ : who :cares Worked all day and night Sat. Sunday was the most beautiful day!!! Mid seventies, bright blue skies, barely any wind. So off to the dz...I arrive, manifest with 2 of the most awesome AFF guys a gal could ask for..so there I am sitting, chit chatting with people packing, I lean my head against the chair and say "wow, that breeze feels nice". Well that %$#@$&ing breeze cost me my jump #3! The winds picked up for a bit, students were put on a hold and by the time the students ahead of me got to jump I had to leave to go to work. *tear*. I was so ready this time too. Here it is the most beautiful day. I feel like such a whuffo. I need to quit my jobs I think. On a more positive note I got to spend the day with a lot of really cool people I hadn't seen in a while. A bunch of people came up to me and said " where ya been??". That felt good. SkymonkeyONE 4 #13 May 18, 2003 1(call from Katie today):0:0 The weather sucked completely all weekend. Had to tell 8 tandem passengers and two AFF students "don't bother coming out." I hate bad weather. Chuck
indyz 1 #14 May 18, 2003 2:3:0 2 days at work (Saturday and Sunday). Snuck out early on Friday and made it up to Sky Knights. Met ladyskydiver and chopchop. One 6 point 3-way, which I don't think is too bad considering I was wearing my freefly suit and kept floating out. A fun 4-way, only a couple of points, more floatiness. Finished it off with a wicked cool 3-way tube at sunset. I couldn't believe how fast that thing got moving.
RevJim 0 #15 May 18, 2003 200:3:1 Cost of replacing my freebag, bridle, and reserve pilot chute (aprox. including rigging charges)-$200 3 jumps. 1 day time under my Sabre, 1 night under my PD126R, and 1 night under a loaner/rental Falcon 235. 1 Case for my first night jump. HeatherB 0 #16 May 18, 2003 1:7:0 1 jump where I really could have used the SlotFinder 2000! 7 fun jumps in all. Would have loved to do more but my ear just about exploded on the last one. It still hurts. 0 beers owed!
Islandcool 0 #17 May 18, 2003 1:11:1+1+1=3?1: Scared off homeless woman when Mike swooped Otay lake. More on that later. 11: Jumps this weekend. Good times for sure. 3?: Hell probably more than 3 but what the hell. Woooohooo! You ever get those weekends that just go "yep this is what is all about." Jumping at Elsinore of Friday with Glen, Michele, and Rosa. Nice weather, good company. Sit flying with glen was great and the track dive was awesome. Track dive was a first. Sat.. 3-way Sitfly with Mike Ortiz and my AFF coach Jen. Man that was great! I hadn't jumped with her since I was a student. Sat afternoon sunset load. Several guys swoop the lake. There is a woman right at the spot where they'll be coming in. I asked her if she can move and explain the situation. Then I notice she has all kinds of possesions on the ground around her. Yep she was a homeless person with a big ass dog. Jumpers are out so I go over and tell her she has about 2 min to move. She starts reeling in her line and here Comes Mike Swoooooooop right past her. Man she moved quick after that. Watched it on video later and it was a crack up. First time I had seen them swoop the lake. Today... 4-way sitfly with Mike, Paulo and Gee. Super cool. Another first. Man I feel like a brand new jumper again.Ed
riddler 0 #18 May 18, 2003 ?:3:1 Got a few so far, but planning on getting a few more before the weekend's out. 3 jumps at Skydive the Rockies in Canon City, CO. Very cool, laid back DZ with a nice Caravan to jump out of. 1 case of Avalanche for first jump at a new DZ Trapped on the surface of a sphere. freeflir29 0 #19 May 19, 2003 Quote And Phil being the sweetheart that he is, paid for my jumps and took me out to dinner! Did he get lucky? 0:0:0 Farkin, piece a shit, crappy, no good, OHIO Weather forcast last night was for 70 and partly cloudy. I guess I forgot to check the small print that said "Individual results may vary." Cause there was an 800Ft thick cloud layer from 2200-3000 or so. It was also chilly today...about 60 or less. So...while the plane actually went up a couple times I decided to sit on the porch and bitch. I did get a couple in on Wednesday and I keep hearing that the weather MAY be OK tomorrow. I know one thing....I certainly miss skydive Atlanta!!!!!

He has no concept of what time it is and will call you in teh middle of the night and wake you up. 2 jumps on saturday (slept in a lot went to DZ and the winds kicked up at about 4:30 or so). did my 600th and celebrated with some Meade and cherry kijafa, did some biking today and went to an impromptu pool party at marcandalysse's house where galen promptly tried to drown me.
