sinker 0 #1 May 21, 2003 check this pic out--it's a runway at Courcheval, France. Damn, I wouldn't want to land there. Or take off either. Anyone ever experience this place? -the artist formerly known as sinker

bluepill 0 #6 May 21, 2003 Yeh it was. Bond, rides a bike of the end of the runway chasing a runnaway plane. Goes headown in to the valley catches the plane up, gets inside, then pulls it out of its dive and escapes over the mountains. ahhh us British - Balls of steel

quade 4 #12 May 21, 2003 QuoteBond, rides a bike of the end of the runway chasing a runnaway plane. It should be noted that the stunt was faked with (very bad) computer graphics. Pissed me off to no end when I saw it. I had always come to expect practical (human) stunts in Bond films and this was, for me, the ultimate insult to the audience.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
sinker 0 #13 May 21, 2003 what part of the stunt are you talking about? the part where he rides the bike off the edge after the low flying porter is real. I've seen outake footage of it on Discovery. Now, if you're talking about the footage shot from the porter where bond is supposed to be flying into it, that's fake. -the artist formerly known as sinker
DTOXX 0 #14 May 21, 2003 I don't think it was the one with the bike to plane transfer. Its the one where Bond "interupts" the blackmarket arms deal, steals the jet just before the missle hits, then wins a dog fight by ejecting his copilot into the bottom of the other jet. ------- D.T. quade 4 #25 May 21, 2003 Well, certainly all of the 60s and 70s skydiving stuff was done by stuntmen because there just wasn't any other way. The more recent Bond stuff blows chunks with so much really bad green screen and CGI. The parachute scene in Die Another Day, where Bond is hand holding risers and surfing made me wanna puke. Everyone in the audience saw how fake that was and just laughed at it. Contrast that with the BASE/car/bridge stunt in XXX. Everyone in the audience loved that because they all knew it was a "real" stunt. And the first 5 minutes of the last Austin Powers movie was more real and believable than the last 10 Bond flicks put together. Eli swooping through the canyons looked bitchin'.quade - The World's Most Boring Skydiver
