Happens pretty regularly, this one WAS last april.
Get sponsorship and go, it would be a blast. You now have a year to jack it all up.

How many other people in the pub have skydived onto the North Pole? Most excellent braggin' rights.B|

Is this the same people who put on the artic jump a few years ago wherein a number of jumpers went in, like four of them or something? I remember hearing about it some time ago... like most lost altitude awareness, were snow blinded or something.. someone help me out here...

Russian Iylushen 76 Jet Plane and feel the Jet wash blow you out the door!!

Isn't that the same type of aircraft that gave 100+ folks an involuntary high altitude "exit" over Africa a couple weeks ago ??

I "Snopes'd" that sucker as soon as I saw it, and didn't find it. Just checked again - nothing.

Just Curious - Where'd you see that ??

"usually, russian engineering is much better than any western designs, its the maintenance (and consumer experience) they lack... "

Its often different, better value for money, and often more focussed on function rather than form. But I'd find it hard to describe it as 'much better'.
Even if you consider the Former Eastern Bloc as opposed to just Russia...
But my pride as a Scottish engineer can't let this one go.....;)
That said, my all time favourite jump ship just has to be the marvelous AN72.

"Not Legal!"
Man, that is just so wrong!
Oh well, they have one occasionally at Vichy, but that would mean visiting France....ach, what a dilemma!B|

Hmmm... let's see. 436 jumps at my home DZ, or maybe 300 plus jumps at various DZ's around CONUS with money for gas and beer (and maybe even food) or freeze my ass off to make a couple of jumps at the North Pole.

Sounds like a no brainer to me!;)

Ok, so it's pink, but I'm secure in my manhood, and I still look cool coming in under it!
