tbrown 26 #51 May 23, 2003 Four in my first 566 jumps, all in the old days (1976 -'80). Three cutaways, one lost PC handle total. Those were in the old days, safetywise I was a bit of a screwup (to put it politely) in those days. I'd like to think I'm starting with a clean slate and a new attitude. Never have opened a square reserve though, would love to jump one as a main once or twice, out of curiosity. Your humble servant.....Professor Gravity ! TheAnvil 0 #52 May 23, 2003 Two. One due to a malfuncion and one due to my cutaway handle being pulled by a jumper who will remain un-named while we were in the proverbial 'hairball' after funnelling an exit. That terminal velocity reserve opening sucked ass. Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!

CDRINF 1 #65 May 23, 2003 2 in 705 jumps. First time was jump #201, and my first jump where my then fiance' was watching. This started her love for the sport Brake line got wrapped around some suspension lines and put me in a slow spin. I lost the main and freebag! Next was an RW collision where someone somehow snagged my reserve handle. There I was at 8000' under my reserve. CDR

jumprunner 0 #68 May 23, 2003 Quote2 in 201 jumps one last weekend - one 2 years ago last weekend the chute just didn't want to open - no twists, but the slider was up and it wasn't going to come down - after a 1500 foot snivel it was time to say good bye forever to that freebag You say a snivel, that sounds like a streamer. Gadget 0 #69 May 23, 2003 Yes i made a few attempts to get to the bridle line on my back( i could see the pilot above me as a tandem). When this didn't work i pulled my reserve. After opening i could pull my pilot in ,put it in my jumpsuit and flew it down. This was with a Triathlon hybride with a retractable pilotchute,so the bridle is only a line and not a normal bridle. On the ground i found that the line had slipped under the pin and lodged.I could lift my total rig with that bridle so i wouldn't be apple to pull it in flight.Oh i did a compleet reserve procedure. If people from Poland are called Poles, why aren't people from Holland called Holes??? freeflir29 0 #72 May 24, 2003 0 for 332.(Knock on Wood) More than a couple ALMOSTS. I really attribute that record to good luck, careful packing and gear maintenance, and most of all.....PULLING at 3000Ft. I would have had AT LEAST 1 or 2 rides if I made a habit out of pulling at 2K.
HeatherB 0 #73 May 24, 2003 1 reserve ride out of 470 or so. Back in March. (I was told my someone at the DZ, "You're only at 420 jumps? That's way too early to have a mal!" As if I should have rode it in or something? lol I did have a pilot chute/bridle wrapped around my arm once but I got it off of me. That was fun. (jump #1) Safe jumping this weekend everyone!
