ltdiver 3 #1 May 13, 2003 Ok. I've spent the last 7 days test driving new 2003 cars after work. Kind of fun, playing with the salesmen and watching their eyes light up when they realize I'm seriously in the market to replace my 1998 Mustang GT. The list above are the cars I've driven so far. And the list is complete (IMO) of the series I'm considering, I believe. I'm still undecided, though. Each car has it's own positives. And so, I'm posting here for your input. Help a fellow car enthusiast out and give me some feedback here. Your choice, positives on your choice, and negatives on any others. I'm needing to replace my rental car -this week-. Thanks! ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon

Keith 0 #7 May 13, 2003 Forget the Beemer Lori. Forget the Honda (although I do have a soft spot for Honda's since a couple of them saved my life, and there is something to be said for a certain someone's hybrid). You have to go for the Mustang GT convertible. You know how much you loved the last one, may she RIP, so you have to pay her homage and get the GT convertible Keith Don't Fuck with me Keith - J. skybytch 273 #8 May 13, 2003 I voted for the Mustang convertible. You just lost your baby. You need consolation. A ragtop would help to soothe your pain; really, it would help immeasurably. Especially this time of year. btw, glad you came out of it okay!
bch7773 0 #9 May 13, 2003 Get a Yugo!!! you could 3 different yugos in 3 different colors for the same price as any one of those cars but seriously, go for a Toyota or Nissan, outta the cars I've ever owned, these two gave me the least mechanical problems. Clownburner 0 #11 May 13, 2003 Of the cars you've listed, the WRX is by far the best deal going. The 350Z is really nice too, but if it's too much money it's too much money. I came very close to buying a WRX recently but couldn't arrive at a mutually acceptable solution with the dealer (i.e., they were a$$%@!&$) 7CP#1 | BTR#2 | Payaso en fuego Rodriguez "I want hot chicks in my boobies!"- McBeth

mnischalke 0 #15 May 13, 2003 I rented a 2003 mustang for my trip to fla. a couple weeks ago. I put 2,500 miles on it (7,500 total when I turned it in) and it was falling apart as I was driving it. I was far from impressed, even though some chick at a gas station came over the loudspeaker to say "pump # 6, I really like your yellow mustang." If you are gonna get a car, the Pontiac Grand Prix GTO will be out by the end of the year. Its about the same size as a mustang with a 5.7 litre, aluminum-block, 340 hp LS1 engine. AggieDave 6 #17 May 13, 2003 Mustangs are worthless, unless you drop $$$ in them to get them to the power they should have... Remember what I recommended to you in the first thread? A Chevy 1500 5.3L Z-71, get the extended cab (you'll like the extra room). You'll love it, trust me. --"When I die, may I be surrounded by scattered chrome and burning gasoline." You just cant be bored whit that car. Something is always happening whit it. Almost like it has a soul...of a devil. I would not take it again even if it was free of charge. I think that I read somewhere, that it was chosen for worst car of all times on some internet poll. I would choose Mazda 6.

mattb 0 #21 May 13, 2003 Land Rover Discovery Hertz gave me one last week and I've been drooling non-stop since then. I want to go blow $40k on a truck even though I live in Chicago.
AggieDave 6 #22 May 13, 2003 Here's a problem with that truck... You can't get shop manuals for it, you HAVE to take it to the dealer or approved shop to get it worked on, AND you have to buy Land Rover parts, no 3rd party stuff...so, you pay out the asshole to keep one running.
