Ok....which car should I buy?

Recommended Posts

Ok. I've spent the last 7 days test driving new 2003 cars after work. Kind of fun, playing with the salesmen and watching their eyes light up when they realize I'm seriously in the market to replace my 1998 Mustang GT.

The list above are the cars I've driven so far. And the list is complete (IMO) of the series I'm considering, I believe.

I'm still undecided, though. Each car has it's own positives. And so, I'm posting here for your input. Help a fellow car enthusiast out and give me some feedback here.

Your choice, positives on your choice, and negatives on any others. I'm needing to replace my rental car -this week-.

Thanks!

2003 Bentley Arnage....Red Label, or perhaps an Aston Martin V8 Vantage...most any year will do.

Don't be a pussy my friend. Wait one year, then buy the Opel Speedster, right out of the German factory.
Check it

They will import back to America Shortly. Can't wait!

Guess you missed the post where it was mentioned that my car got totaled 9 days ago. (guy ran a stop sign and plowed into the side of my car going about 30 mph). I need a car -now-. Rental cars just don't cut it. :P

Forget the Beemer Lori. Forget the Honda (although I do have a soft spot for Honda's since a couple of them saved my life, and there is something to be said for a certain someone's hybrid). You have to go for the Mustang GT convertible. You know how much you loved the last one, may she RIP, so you have to pay her homage and get the GT convertible :)

I voted for the Mustang convertible.

You just lost your baby. You need consolation. A ragtop would help to soothe your pain; really, it would help immeasurably. Especially this time of year. ;)

btw, glad you came out of it okay!

Get a Yugo!!! you could 3 different yugos in 3 different colors for the same price as any one of those cars :P

but seriously, go for a Toyota or Nissan, outta the cars I've ever owned, these two gave me the least mechanical problems. (less money for repairs=more money for jumping) B|

DANG. I've been having a serious problem with this lately. Just ask people at KSUPC, i'm missing important information left and right. WHAM, RIGHT OVER MY HEAD. :S There it goes, i missed it, it's gone for good. No use in trying to find it.

Of the cars you've listed, the WRX is by far the best deal going. The 350Z is really nice too, but if it's too much money it's too much money. I came very close to buying a WRX recently but couldn't arrive at a mutually acceptable solution with the dealer (i.e., they were a$$%@!&$) [:/]

My mate lent me his 350Z the other week, it was AWESOME.

TVR said they were coming to the US, dunno where the current plans are. I'd love a TVR.

I rented a 2003 mustang for my trip to fla. a couple weeks ago. I put 2,500 miles on it (7,500 total when I turned it in) and it was falling apart as I was driving it. I was far from impressed, even though some chick at a gas station came over the loudspeaker to say "pump # 6, I really like your yellow mustang."

If you are gonna get a car, the Pontiac Grand Prix GTO will be out by the end of the year. Its about the same size as a mustang with a 5.7 litre, aluminum-block, 340 hp LS1 engine. Total fucking badass return of the goat.B|

Mustangs are worthless, unless you drop $$$ in them to get them to the power they should have...

Remember what I recommended to you in the first thread? A Chevy 1500 5.3L Z-71, get the extended cab (you'll like the extra room). You'll love it, trust me.B|

In order:
Mazda 6
Mazda RX8
Acura RSX

this is based on C&D's reviews an my own test drives.

unless you like nissan then the Z is an awesome deal. If you are more Rally minded go for the WRX as the octavia is not available in the US

LOL:ph34r:
I owed a Yugo, man that was the worst car I ever owed. You just cant be bored whit that car. Something is always happening whit it. Almost like it has a soul...of a devil.>:(B| I would not take it again even if it was free of charge. I think that I read somewhere, that it was chosen for worst car of all times on some internet poll. B|B|

I would choose Mazda 6.

Here's a problem with that truck...

You can't get shop manuals for it, you HAVE to take it to the dealer or approved shop to get it worked on, AND you have to buy Land Rover parts, no 3rd party stuff...so, you pay out the asshole to keep one running. (I've got a friend who wants to sell his because of this)
