OK, so I am wearing Depends undergarments

Recommended Posts

I went out to Jumptown in Mass. today and signed up for AFF. It's about time...right? I will begin my ground school on June 6th. It's going to be a weekend progression because I don't have much vacation time at work accrued. What's really cool is the other 4 students signed up right now are all soldiers who just came back from Iraq!!! No, I don't feel at all inferior.:P Actually, I can't wait to meet them and thank them for the awesome job they did for our country.

Now, I have to be honest, I am a bit nervous. In fact I am a lot nervous. It has been a looong time since I was last in the air. I could write a book about all the "what ifs". At the same time, I am really psyched and wish it was today.

So if anyone wishes to share some words of encouragement while I mentally prepare, it would be most appreciated and may just earn you a beer.

Thanks you knuckleheads,
Chris

BTW...Michele told me I was a cutie pie.:)

Remember to focus on the Targeted Learning Objectives. On jump one, it's Pull On Time. Some students get preoccupied with the skills they will need to demonstrate later.

Pass the TLO's and you pass the skydives.

You better get your ass in gear if you want to get that A license before you're 40. :P

Just say to yourself, "If CrazyIvan can do it, then I can do it." I mean, he's crazy and all, right? ;)

Holy crap, I forgot about that dream.:o

You must not have been that good in it, 'Cakes.;):)

June 6th can't come fast enough. I'm going to do like Deuce said, only concentrate on altitude awareness and nothing else.:P

And KatieBear, when I talk to these soldiers, is there anything you want kept secret?:$

Lastly, it was CrazyIvan who has inspired me. After all he is crazy and he's doing it. How hard can it be?

I haven't forgotten to pull since I was 12.:$
Wouldn't it be ironic if I forgot now?;)

BTW, what is the signal for "you're pulling the wrong thing you asshole?"B|

It is natural to be nervous about getting back in the air....I am nervous myself....I have been sick for the past nine months....I may finally get back in the air tomorrow...

You better believe that I am nervous. But in an excited kinda way. If I let the nerves win then I am a whuffo...and I SO don't want that!

Go, refresh you rmemory, and jump! Be sure to tell us how things went! I know you will have a blast!

Thanks for that Jan...yes, I was sober, yes you are a cutie pie, and know what? You're gonna be just fine.

Listen to Deuce (who is a cutie pie too)...follow your JMs instructions, and you will be just fine. It's all about the faith, my friend, the faith and the desire to reach past your limits and see what else is real...maybe not tangible, maybe not easily acheived, but real, and special and amazing.

Hugs, cutie Chris!!!

Michele

You're going to have a blast. The instructors are great. I still have not been back to jump since I did my first 3 levels. I am hoping to get back there this weekend or the weekend after. It will be good to meet you. :)

Hey folks,

I just received an email from Chris Civie, an aff instructor at Jumptown. He included this quote that was said to him when he was starting out. I believe there is a lot of wisdom in it and thought I'd share it with the rest of you.

"...You have to re-align your thinking that it is okay to jump from a plane. Just keep jumping and jumping until you realize that it's okay to leave the door. " -- Paula Kingsbury
