quade 4 #1 May 27, 2003 I have an alternate email address here on dz.com that I use for absolutely nothing other than as an experiment. I've never posted the email addres anywhere. I just checked it a few minutes ago and it looks like it's been the victim of at least 3 "brute force" SPAM attacks. By "brute force" I mean that the spammer sent them blindly without ever knowing that the email address existed just by guessing at email addresses such as "alan1@dropzone.com" and then "alan2@dropzone.com" and so on. The reason I suspect this is because the address isn't one that would come up in normal conversation. AndyMan 7 #4 May 28, 2003 That's one of the reasons I use AndyMan - not a common brute-forcable guess. I've never gotten spam on dz.com - although I don't post the email address anywhere public, nor do I allow it used in commercial correspondence. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead.
