First reserve ride to end the perfect week end.

Recommended Posts

i was just about done for the day, but i had way too much fun using my first spector 210 (i'm just off student status) and then they called for an 18K!!!
impossible to refuse...of course; i had a great time, couple of back flip, tracked, it was awsome, then time to pull: wave off and go for cord.
slight problem, for some reason i couldn't get my hand fully on it, and i couldn't get it out.
i went a second time, this time i couldn't reach it then i figured i'll just follow the lining of the BOC and get the damm cord!!!
But this little voice in my head said:" Try once , try twice and go for silver!"
so that's what i did, Thanks Seb (that was the little voice).
the weird thing is i was expecting to be in a panic or freaked out afterwards, but nothing, i was just super annoyed that we couln't find the bag on the ground.
still this was a great week end, and i'll be bringing beer for next saturday...

...and a fifth of poison for your rigger so you may pay him what your life is worth ;)

Seriously Natacha, you did good!! My Beer chop was jump #20. I too was not really freaked out ... until later... when I realized that my round reserve ride was ENTIRELY dependent on the spot granted to me by my JM. (BTW how WAS your spot???)

You obviously have the right mindset to be a REAL skydiver if you can calmly save your life at 120 mph... and you will never again be scared of "your first reserve ride". I DO feel that your first chop is right up there with your first solo jump and your first jump ... just trust me and don't seek out your 'first horseshoe mal' ... that one IS scary :o:o:o though your brain will work just as well if you keep a calm head.

PS: Doesn't 18k rock???

The fifth is a "bottle of choice" to your rigger. on your first reserve ride you owe beer - but you ALWAYS owe your rigger a tip (aka the bottle).

Our rigger/DZO has had a kidney transplane and instead of a bottle he asks us to make a donation to the Kidney Foundation - glad to do so

Dave

PS: soon he starts to teach me CReW - THAT should be good for a donation or 2 ;)

Congrats, Natasha! Glad to hear you're OK. Terminal velocity reserve rides SUCK! How's your neck? Hopefully not as sore as mine was.

Now what day is that beer coming, so I can waddle over to Hollister and partake of the nectar of the gods? ;)

Beers to all!

How's your neck?

my neck is fine, my legs though are pretty bruised (let's say pretty black)
but that's just the adding of a couple of hard opening thoughout the week end.
