Deuce 1 #1 May 27, 2003 "Yeah, you can have one of those velcro walker kinda velcro cast-brace thingies" I'm back up weekend after next. Team JP will be in the air at the American Boogie. Formation loads. The smart JP is a wheel at Skydance, so let's reset that record! Such a drag to miss jumping at Perris, all those people I don't get to see very often. But I won't be down long. Who's gonna be at the American Boogie: Diablopilot Deuce Chopchop Skymama Cornholio Lummy Jams ?

lummy 4 #3 May 27, 2003 In my drunken stupor, Jams reiterated (Many times I must add) that he will be working and won't get to play at the American Boogie..... I did hear a rumor that a certain square might be riding the Van up from Eloy tho... LIZZIE!!! How'd those directions work for ya?I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. BoobieCootie 0 #7 May 27, 2003 It was very nice to jump at Hollister. I got home last night past 11pm so I didn't have enought Red Bull in me to fire up the 'puter and IEEE 1394 the 4-point 7-way we did. Many thanks to Sebazz1, CellJumper, FlyMySky, Peggy, Bob, The Anvil, and every one I got to jump with. I hope we'll get to do that again at Davis
skybytch 273 #8 May 27, 2003 Y'know, had they not scheduled that boogie on the same weekend as the bigway camp in Perris... I'd be there! Dammit.
Cornholio 0 #9 May 27, 2003 Um... you broke your leg, right ?? and you think you're going to be jumping in two weeks ?? You're smoking crack, my friend. I'll believe it when I see it. Do you think you'll be able to jump off a picnic table onto both feet ? Or how about off a chair onto the foot in question ? Do you think you'll be able to run a hundred feet at full speed ? I know you're strong willed and all, but I don't think you're stupid - at least not yet. The sky will be there when you return... it's not going anywhere, and neither are your friends who want to see you recover completely before you happen to injure it again. Remember what happened at Eloy last year after you left divots in the groud at Byron a few weeks earlier ? Butthead: Whoa! Burritos for breakfast! Beavis: Yeah! Yeah! Cool! bellyflier on the dz.com hybrid record jump
Deuce 1 #10 May 27, 2003 Ah, Cornholio, my intelligence has always been held captive by my passion. Yeah, I remember limping around Eloy, JUMPING! I genuinely appreciate your concern, and your reminder. Quade, what the doctor said is I could have either the moonboot thing or nothing. WTF? He was going to let me just walk out of there, and he did get a consult. Hey, for my $10 copay, gimme the free moonboot! My walking on it is controlled only by the amount of pain it generates. My pain tolerance is unusually high, and I told him that, but there is no danger of aggravating the fracture unless I hyper or super extend the ankle. I will butt slide my landings for the next month with both ankles in rigid braces I have from previous injuries. (Emily was staying at my place when she torqued her ankle jumping at Byron and she was astounded at the amount of brace paraphernalia I have. Finally got a pair of aluminum crutches - that SoCal Kaiser rocks! I am highly skilled at being injured) No, I didn't tell him I plan on going skydiving in two weeks. Unless he was a skydiver, I don't think that helps with diagnosis. If I still have pain when I get ready to jump, I probably won't. I gotta get my jump with B-squared! B-Squared in NorCal where the air is clean! On my new PD Velocity 79!

Michele 1 #22 May 28, 2003 Hey, Deuce? How long would it take to heal if you, knock wood, land badly - braced and all - and now need surgery? 3 months? 5? More? Or, geesh my imagination is flowing now - what if you are so concerned about protecting your ankle from re-injury and whack your head/camera/back/something else? I know about walking out with a broken ankle...I did that, no cast either...my pain tolerance was/is exceptionally high, too. But I also didn't go back into the martial arts studio until I could hop around on it without it turning colors and swelling (I didn't feel the pain...I only knew because I looked at it...)... It's your life...you'll do as you see fit regardless of my opinion...but I didn't get a hug from you last weekend, and I missed you. I don't want you to be gone for a long time... The sky will wait, it's not going anywhere...how about giving it a little more than 2 weeks from DOI?
